Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! After a year of not having a GHD I decided to order the parts and try to fix it myself before buying a new one. Within 15 minutes it was done, thanks to your tutorial. Very easy to follow. You're a wiz 👍

My friend offered to fix my straighteners but they returned them saying that my GHDs were unfixable. I was going to dump them down the tip but thought nothing lost if I have a go myself. I found your video and now they are working just fine. Thanks for a clear instruction video. Absolutely brilliant!!!!

THANK YOU :). Fixed it easily, even though i was scared i was going to break or lose something by taking it all apart. (Especially the spring. I always worry when things have those, but its actually really easy)

I’m opening my ghd that has never had repairs and it has a mark line on the same place you recommended and is filled with white powder remnants I have a feeling somebody used the straightener to smuggle drugs.

Hello good, watch my plate I give light and turns and a constant beep and the light will start to Flash and does not heat anything. Now if I warm up a little ceramic with hands or divider works well, creaks a bit a ceramic. As this very cold makes it beep hot works perfectly. I hope that you can solve it, a greeting and thanks!

My girlfriend has some GHD SS5.0 and the dog has chewed through the mains cable, I have ordered a replacement external cable with the pin connector on the end from your Amazon store, I don't need to replace the internal cable as well do I ? You seem to do both in this video ? Thanks in advance.

Hi. My GHD use to work just fine just out of nowhere I tried turning it on and it just wouldn't turn on anymore. What could be the problem? the cable or some fuse?

Hi, I've got the Jamella Pink 5.0 ghds. They were working perfectly fine and then one day I went to switch them on and they just wouldn't come on or make a noise or anything. My dad has had a quick look and says there is power going in, but nothing coming out. Could this be the thermal fuse? And can I purchase one from your shop? Missing my straighteners so much lol! Many thanks, Shann :) x

I’ve fixed my straighteners but when I put it all together, but the two irons are sat two close together almost to the point where I can’t get my finger in to switch the iron on, any ideas what I can do? I’ve screwed everything in g down so I can’t think of why it’s not sitting apart enough

Did you put the spring in correctly? Perhaps the arms can't open fully because of the spring. Feel free to email me some photos and I can take a look - gary@ghd-repair.co.uk

Hi, I'm trying to fix the same/similar model to the one in your video and have found there is power going in and out of the straightener, fuse is working fine. However, nothing happens with the straightener when it is switched on. No led, no heat and no sound. Just doesn't seem right. Would there be an issue with the circuit board? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

***** mate thank you so much for your videos, straight after I saw this one I saw your video on how to test resistors then the video on how to replace them. Turned out the r8 resistor was shot. Replaced that and perfect. My girlfriend loves me for fixing her favourite straightener haha. Thanks again mate!

@Ghd-repairCoUk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, You should be able to tell by the symptoms - do the irons come on when you wiggle the cable? If not it might be another fault. See our website for lots of fault finding info - ghd.repair We also offer a repair service if you don't fancy fault finding them yourself. See ghd.repair/service Regards, Gary

Hi I think the switch has broken or something under the switch on the circuit board on my mark 5's as it makes the noise if you keep pushing it up and down, but the light doesn't stay on or heat up. Do you do repairs, if there sent to you? Many thanks Hayley
@Ghd-repairCoUk8 жыл бұрын
Hi Hayley, If the make noise if you keep switching them on and off, then that might be a failed resistor. If pressing on the switch (with changing it's position) brings them to life then there is a bad connection in the switch. Whatever the problem, our repair service will be able to fix them for you. See ghd.repair/service for details. Gary

+GHD Repair by Fogma Ltd Thanks Gary for the quick response. Yes I have a feeling it's the switch, because like I said I do get a brief noise sometimes when I keep pushing the switch up and down. My boyfriend is going to take them apart tomorrow and if he can't figure it out I will go to your website. Many thanks Hayley.👍🏼 Ps I bet you have saved a lot of 'bad hair days' lol

Hi Hayley, Tell him to have a look at our repair guide and check the resistors and the thermal fuse - www.ghd-repair.co.uk/guides/mk4_debug.html These are the parts that normally fail. Switch failures are quite rare and it is always worth checking the common faults :) Gary

these hair irons are so expensive and I have 2 that don't work because of faulty cables. I mean really? there should be a recall
@Ghd-repairCoUk7 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke, The cables generally fail due to heavy use or because they are wrapped around the irons for storage. If the cables were designed to be more robust, then they would have to be stiffer and therefore less easy to use. Fortunately replacement compatible cables are available - see www.ghd-repair.co.uk/shop/mk5/ghd_type3_cable Regards, Gary

Don't put the straighteners between your legs you will stab yourself. Put them in a clamp. I when through me finger when the screwdriver slipped. Luckily I did not go through my leg.
