I tried the smaller version cake, but baked in oven @ 180C... Pakshe cake venthilla.. tried baking for almost 45min.. but top hard aayipoyi and ennittum ullil venthilla.. colour also was more white-ish... (used milma ghee)... what could have been my mistake?

When you bake, is it necessary to heat both upper and lower rods??..in my oven bake mode means only bottom rod gets heated..but they say,always pre heat the oven with both roads heated..in my oven it is toast mode.pls advice me.. I tried your marble cake...superb..

Mam,tried ghee cake recipie nd it came out well.I did it in convection plus microwave option.I tried the small cake recipie.it took only 6 min to get it cooked at 170 degree.whenver I prepare cake in convection mode it never out to be good.cake will undercooked and flat cake.i don't know why it is happening like that.so I started making cake in stove top.Bt this ghee cake I tried in convection plus microwave option nd not just convection alone.Nd the result was good.Mam can you help me to sort out the problem

I haven't tried the small pan cake in oven, but you can bake for 20-25 minutes and start checking after 15 minutes on a safer side. I cannot assure you about this timing though. 1. When your cake is done, the sides will have slightly pulled away from the pan. 2. The cake is probably close to done if you can smell it - make sure to add vanilla essence You can also use a toothpick to make sure if the cake is baked properly.

I have used pasteurized milk. If you are using packet milk, then you dont need to boil before using. If you are using raw milk then you may boil it and use it after cooling down to room temperature.
