The loss of power and lean condition are probably a byproduct of running without an air filter. This isn't an old carb'd 350 that you can remove the filter on and be done.

Dang, it made a whole lot more than I thought it would! Not bad for an ex cop 4.6 at all! Since you are swapping in the coyote down the line... If the old duals are in good shape and you can get them off in once piece I'd love to have them. Those factory exhausts would outlast my grand marquis and definitely free up some horsepower. LTL from Florida to Texas shouldn't be too bad probably and obviously I'd pay for that.

Hate to bring science into this buuut, the reason turbos make good power is because of pressure. It's not the pressure that you necessarily want, but more dense air. This means you have more oxygen atoms per volume to combust in the engine. What you don't want is velocity or fast moving air. According to bernoullis principles, moving fluids have a lower pressure than slow moving fluids. So using your air compressor to shoot a fast stream of air into the intake actually will create negative boost or a slight vaccuum relative to atmospheric pressure, and thus lower HP numbers. Using the tire inflator did work as there was enough air volume to pressurize the intake a little, but the velocity the air was shot into the intake likely cancelled most of it out. In short using pressurized air from a tank would not be an ideal way to "boost" a car.

hotrodj21 That's very interesting. Never would have thought somebody would actually try it. The reason theirs works is they can deliver more are than the engine requires, thus creating that important boost pressure. They also have a full isolated system from atmosphere with large diameter tubes to reduce velocity. Still cool!

As an architect , I find myself at city meetings or client meetings sneaking a peak at my KZfaq ap to see if You've posted a new video lol , love ur stuff man and love that it's not full of cussing also Just FYI. Before you built Leroy I saw a c6 z06 missing its body panels for sale from Cleveland drivetraines and thought man I should buy it and Jsut drive as is and though it'd be the coolest corvette lol didn't do it because I figured getting it street legal would be a mess but then saw your video when u found Leroy and that's what got me hooked hooked on your channel! Awesome brother! Keep it up!

Bro, you can get a used F150 Coyote 5 liter cheap, and throw a set of BBK headers, Boss intake on it, a true dual exhaust, a set of Mustang heads and cams, a tune, and with that T56 and it'll throw down in basically stock form. As long as the engine is relatively low mileage, it should run great with that setup. Then, once you get used to it, you can throw a good set of manifolds and a turbo on it and see what it makes. I'm betting 600-650 whp is possible with stock internals and a good tune. That would make for a crazy taxi.

Should hold 8 PSI fairly easy on a good tune. I just searched some F150 forums and there's guys saying they're running 12 PSI on stock bottom end 3v Tritons, if it was me I wouldn't push it past 8 PSI though. Those motors are pretty tough besides the cam phaser issues.

You should rent a gas powered rotary screw air compressor that you can pull behind the crown Vic. Should be plenty of air flow to pick up some power and its constant high volume air.

Once they put the coyote all they need is a good chip and tune with long tube headers and 3in exhaust with no cats and it'll be making respectable numbers with no boost or nitrous , and if they combine that with a 4.10 rear gear that thing will make over 400hp at the wheels

you should get a Pressure regulator for the air hose. drill and tap a hole in the throttle body(before or after the flap) or intake manifold, and throw pressure at it incrementally. like 5ps 8psi 10psi etc. not sure how well it'll work since it's not a closed system like it would be if its turbo charged with intercooler piping

4:36 I'm very familiar with that sound. We had a cop that liked to floor his Crown Vic from the end of my street and then let off just past my house around midnight to 3AM. I would be on Xbox live gaming with my friends and hear that sound from way out because there was no noise in the middle of the night until the Crown Vic came through at WOT. Someone must have reported it because after about 3 months of speed runs it just stopped. Lol
