I think the reason people were pissed is because of just how much of a pioneer of the scene he is, and how insanely talented he is, and you didn't give him enough of a shot. If everyone liked the same stuff it would be a boring world! I enjoy Akala fire in the booths and respect his art and intelligence but do not play his joints, EVER. Not in the car, not in the lounge, on a walk or in the gym. He's in his own lane and he's important because he makes you think and helps you see the bigger picture but style wise just as music, it's not easy to listen to, for me personally. That said, I'd read his books and I'd go see his musical stage show...
