@@jamesmcphail8142, I would use a two-piece system, Shirt, and pants. Slightly oversized is best. It doesn't really matter what the color is as it can de dyed.

I'm thinking that, too. Money's tight, so got to do it really inexpensively.

I apologize for the extremely late reply! The first Ghillie Suit I made was much the same. Very intricate construction and it took forever. I found that this technique is much faster and breaks up the silhouette well enough. in addition, there is plenty of room to add natural foliage from where I'd be using it. have A Fantastic Weekend!

Thank you Kyle, I've made several ghillie suits, blankets, screens, pack covers, etc... over the years. The ghillie technique breaks up the silhouette and provides a starting point for adding area vegetation and debris to help obscure things from being easily seen. I have been intrigued with Crye Precision's Multicam since they first developed it. I can mimic the process pretty well, however no one produces enamel spray paint in the correct colors. Dura-Coat produces all the correct colors, however they are expensive and the process is very time consuming. Have a great day Kyle, Blessings for you and yours.

Late replies don't bother me. I'm just happy that folks are willing to reach out. He's picky. But he really loves Sheba pate food. I add water and make a soup with it to be sure he's getting plenty of water. It's a bit pricey, so I use it as a treat every couple of days.

Thank you very much for sharing this! I made a ghillie suit 20+ years ago, I may share in a future video. I had found several German mesh laundry bags that all had holes in them for a couple bucks a piece. I cut up a couple of them and incorporated them into the suit, hat and rifle blanket. It worked great! using mesh on it's own works far better at breaking up ones silhouette than one might imagine! breaking it up more with a little bit of a camo pattern... Icing On The cake! The vertical placement is for maximum effectiveness of the seal.

@@boonedockery7220 With the way those ammo cans are made, that seal won't leak if you take care of the seal, but I do see your point.

@@davidtiner4094, You're correct David, Those seals were in perfect condition. I bet I could store it underwater for years without it leaking. It would rust through before the seal failed.

The best thing about making your own is you can tailor it to your specific environment. You can dye raw burlap any color and hit it with wisps of spray paint to fine tune your colors. It's all up to you, do it as simply or complex as you want. it just takes some time. I actually find it therapeutic... Repetition, Quiet, seeing progress as you go, and you save a good bit of money! Always Good!
