Not always. Having a high priced lawyer is always a huge and unfair advantage, as is formerly playing golf with the judge's wife and whatnot. But sometimes the bigger they are the harder they fall, like Phil Spector, Weinstein, Cosby. If she won't plead, I think the full weight of the law will descend on her, and she will not be a very sympathetic figure to a judge or jury.

@Abe Froman I hope not. Not that she should pay for Epstein's crimes, just her own, but I really hope she spends the rest of her life in an ill fitting uniform behind bars. I think most of her assets will be frozen, because it seems that they are the fruits of crime (her father's and Epstein's), not from any legitimate source. Her whole house of cards will tumble.

I was child victim, and it almost destroyed me. It was hard to function, I suffered learning disorders and borderline traits as a result and had to strive hard to deal with life. It destroyed most of my relationships. I am well on in years and what happened is STILL affecting my life. These cowards will never accept the harm they have done. Thank you Dr Grande for clarifying this

I firmly believe that Ghislaine Maxwell's motivation was to please Jeffrey Epstein in order to stay connected to him. She wanted to be his romantic partner as well as remain in his elite social circle. To maintain her relationship with Epstein, she was willing to harm young girls--with callous indifference. Maxwell's behavior mirrors that of someone who has antisocial personality disorder (a person without a conscience). Maxwell is not very attractive physically and she has not aged gracefully. But she is the type of woman who will do ANYTHING to have a man in her life. These two factors gave her the incentive to destroy others in order to have Epstein in her life. Hopefully she will remain in prison so she can't harm anyone else. I appreciate Dr. Grande's analysis and the interesting information he points out.

I agree with almost everything you said...but Maxwell is not attractive ? She hasn't aged gracefully ? On the contrary I think.
@Ben-jq5oo
@Ben-jq5oo 2 жыл бұрын
@@mackiceicukice Exactly my thoughts. I think she has aged very well. I also think had she not met Epstein she would not have been willing to sacrifice the health and welfare of these girls. I think she was willing to do anything to keep him. She grew up in a very dysfunctional family, which doesn’t excuse any of her actions, but may account for a desperate need to seek and keep the “love” of a life partner. I can’t remember a convicted female sex offender who was single. They have all been in long term partnerships or marriages. Fascinating but very sad.

She’s 60, I think she looks very good for her age. Obviously she had low morals to steal 170 million from her own fathers company. Sad that money and power is so attractive to some people that they would sell there soul to just be around it. She had opportunities to do so many positive things in the world but instead this will be her legacy.

John Preston has written a very interesting book about Ghislaine's father Robert Maxwell - "Fall: The Mystery of Robert Maxwell." At first you find yourself laughing at his bizarre behavior and then feeling bad about laughing because Robert Maxwell was so traumatized and mentally unwell. He used to order a tray of food from the kitchen. Then he would drop the tray, smashing everything on it, and order a new tray of food. And that was one of the less worrying things he did. No wonder that Ghislaine ending up knocking around with awful people.

That is a grossly understated way of putting it. The depravity of Epstein, Maxwell, Wexner and the lot goes far beyond being "jaded and remote". It's important to label them what they are - evil. It goes far beyond the case of them just having huge sums of wealth with too much time on their hands...

Meg Gallucci “jaded and remote” is a very good way of putting it, and goes along with what Dr Grande is saying: jaded implies a state of boredom where the ethical sense has become dulled, so you lose empathy and use people as objects to give yourself a sexual thrill. Lots and lots of ordinary people do that, in all sorts of ways. Dr Grande is looking at the back story and context of Maxwell to understand her possible motivations. She absolutely does not fit the typical profile of a female sex offender, so he can only assume that, as he says material wealth, privilege and power have a corrupting effect on people such that they do indeed become “jaded and remote” and thus able to perpetrate abuses on others, for whose rights and sensitivities they have no concern.

I think the statistics about female sex offenders need to be highly contextualized. Poor, often poorly educated women are less likely to have people cover up for their acts or have access to good legal representation than their more well-off counterparts. Sexual abuse by older individuals may be reported less because they tend to hold more power and frame their acts as patronly/matronly care for a younger victim. I also believe abuse at the hands of women is very underreported in general, even if men do commit the vast majority of sexual abuse.

With British people, you always need to take into account the class system - she is a classic product of an upper-class upbringing. Your comments on wealth etc, are valid, but magnify that to a sense of inbred entitlement from school onwards (think - Boris Johnson) and in her case, an acted-out narcissistic rage springing from her father's conviction. She - and a whole class, frankly, regardless of their individual wealth - believe in every molecule of their being they are superior, not only to Britons of a 'lower' social class, but all foreigners. A whole strata of Donald Trumps, in reality, disguised by privilege, good manners, and an acquiescent society.

I suspect we will see the Supreme Court or even an Appeals Court finding the prior immunity agreement "unlawful" and void. The court will weave a legal construct supporting such a finding. Before sentencing she will either talk and give up the people involved thereby making a deal with the DOJ or she will die in prison.

I realized from my police services board work from decades ago that some people seemed to think that 'prostitution' was a victimless crime. I soon realized that the sex trade workers were actually the victims but even now I find very little confirmation of that. I think many of them are survivors of abuse. I think they are also victimizing themselves as well as allowing others to victimize them. Add to that, all attendant complex drug, alcohol and substance abuse. An Indigenous woman shared her insight with me and it has stuck with me to this day. She said, "Everybody just wants to be loved"

Thank you, Dr. Todd, for your insight. From my perspektive, the involvement of Ghislaine Maxwell is rather easy to understand. With the death of her powerful father she was catapulted out of the lavish lifestyle she had been used to. Also, because of the theft of her well-known father she must have become a social pariah in the UK. I guess, trying to become wealthy on the same level like her father had been before simply by being employed didn't work out, especially not in an expensive place like New York. Therefore, it was easy for Epstein to make her his "Madame", aka: the hunter for his prey. That was easy for G.M., guaranteed her huge profits and gave her back the lifestyle of the super-rich. My diagnosis would be: She's a narcisst with sadistic tendency.

Very good analysis there, thankyou. After reading everything possible about Ghislaine, I have come to believe that she was more than daddy's little girl. I think her father sexually "groomed" her from a very young age. He would tell her how special their secret little bond was, that there was no shame in this special love (abuse). I believe this to be true, as she seemed to be a natural at 'grooming' these young girls (where did she learn this behaviour?). Also, she is clearly intelligent. It seems her behaviour was ingrained. She chose Geoffrey as the things they did were also 'special' and 'secret', much like the bond with her father. She always thought this kind Of abuse was normal. I believe she herself is a victim who's sick relationship with her father is the cause of her denial, despite the long list of victims all recalling very similar memories. I think the justice department needs to be looking into this relationship she shared with her father.

I'll help a little. Read my "essay" above. Yes, the clue is probably in her childhood. Her mother could have been the abusive one or her father? A relative or friend? What I see is a woman who wanted to see young girls suffer, maybe as a substitute? Maybe, to satisfy her jealousy? Note that most of his victims were blonds. She was acting out either way and her participation could have been to prove her loyalty, her need to have a man in her life so she could face, prove her place in the upper social circles that Epstein craved for his client victim pool. Study the Karla Homolka case and the Rosemary West Case. The female can be more deadlier then the male but usually not. Remember the Elizabeth Smart Case? If this is your degree? Please catch up. :) I am sorry to say those are just the tip of the iceberg. Jealousy, hatred, control over a male by only giving him what he wants if he meets her demands, oh, so many twisted reason why some women will do anything to anyone to get what they want. They murder, rape, sell their babies for sex, money or drugs. You picked a great profession. Be prepared.

Sad to say, but "some" people in the economic stratosphere see others as being way beneath them, as dispensable "nothings" to be used, abused and disposed of after they've served their purpose. That Maxwell would procure underaged girls for Epstein's use and abuse, and that these girls were, by and large, from disadvantaged backgrounds, seems to confirm that she thought them of no value or worth.

It would be interesting to understand more about what kind of father Robert Maxwell was. He came from a Yiddish speaking family, with 6 children and was a refugee from the former Ukraine/Czechoslovakia, joining the Czech army in exile at the age of 17. He won the Military Cross in 1945. Most of his family died in Auschwitz. After the war he went into business as a publisher in the UK, and along the way he had 9 children, and became a Labour MP. He once said "[as an MP] I tried having male assistants at first. But it didn't work. They tend to be too independent. Men like to have individuality. Women can become an extension of the boss." How would such a person regard a daughter? I don't think even if he doted on her that he was a good dad. He had a reputation as a domineering bully, a risk-taker, he may have been a spy, he was a fraudster, even though he had become rich. Although there might be no 'diagnosis' of mental disorder in Ghislaine Maxwell, she may not have at all a normal sense of right and wrong, and her relationship with Epstein, whether girlfriend or just friend was not normal either.

Dr. Grande this video misses the point!! There are fascinating psychological angles that can explain how someone like Ghislaine ends up committing sex crimes. Her complicated relationship with her father, losing him and their family fortune in public and with shame, and then hooking up with Epstein who is SO MUCH like her father. She would have married him but realizing that he is a sexual predator, moved into the next "slot" that would keep her connected and relevant. She helped facilitated his addiction in order to keep her position, and probably would have never done this sort of thing on her own accord.

Agreed and why would she stay in America when she had 6 bank account s with 20 million, and triple nationality, french English and American, France has no extreditiin deal with the US so she had no reason to stay in America at all....🤔

She's obviously following orders, she was told to stay at that location, and probably knew she was about to be arrested. This is all some sick twisted plot and all these elites are in on it.

As strange as it may seem.. she may have a better chance at survival being held here in US jail than in another European country 🤔 I mean after Epstein was suicided, I’m sure security will much different now & as a result, she may be the most safest person in the world 🤷

Maybe a tiny bit more blank time at the end of your video, in case I have to get to my phone to hit the like button. I listen to you with my Bluetooth during the day a lot. I also love leaving you on as I drift off to sleep. You have just the right sound to sooth and relax. Thank you so much for your hard work.

“Less than 5% of sex offenders are female”, “when women do offend, they rarely get reported…” so we don’t actually know if the % isn’t much higher than that, because they don’t get reported. I’ve seen quite a few publicised cases (out of the very few, that were publicised) where a woman was actually charged for abuse of minors - only after texts, or photographs were discovered by a family member of the minor. The victims generally keep quiet, especially the boys. In other words, we have no idea what the % is, because nobody actually talks when something happens. Maybe the victims are confused, maybe they don’t even feel like victims, or they don’t want to be viewed as such. Plus it’s harder to believe that this 30 year old, decent looking female teacher is having sex with her 13 year old student.
