You mentioned the price being more expensive on the calibration fluids for GHL, but neglected that the Apex solutions were single use. Also, the expandability modules with the Apex, and the range of add in cards for the GHL you kind of glossed those. But good reviews so far!!

Hey Derrick, you are doing a great job on the comparison. I think you are really giving GHL a fair shot against the Apex. I am a DIY kind of guy, I would be curious to hear what can be DIY on the GHL. This whole video prompted the following questions that maybe you can answer in this series. Are there any DIY options for float switches, door switches, leak detection, button inputs? You can do all of this with the I/O port on the Apex with a breakout box without buy an FMM. Are GHL pH/ORP probes double junction or single junction? I assume any generic bnc pH/ORP will work with GHL? Also I remember hearing that using the probe cell shortens probe life as pH/ORP probes were not design to be used under pressure. I'm not sure how true that is but maybe Vinny can provide some input. Does the GHL powerbar do power monitoring like the EB832? If not I would say the old EB8 is more similar and less expensive at $160(EB8) vs $230(powerbar). Additionally powerbars don't include a PAB cable starting at $10 (I'm sure you could find a ethernet cable for free but NS always includes an aquabus cable). Also what type of switch mechanism does the powerbar use switch on/off? Relay or triac? Does GHL have an App/cloud control/port forward option for remote access?

Good overall comparison but a few omissions in particular with the KH director that not only tests for KH but also controlls it by using 1 of the doser pumps. When comparing the calibration fluids and indicating the price, you should mention that for APEX is single use vs. multiple calibration with GHL. How about built quality? How about the powerbars internal electrical components and design? The GHL powerbar internals are far superior to APEX when it comes to protecting the equipment connected to it. I don't have either but doing research to make the decision but so far I see APEX as a cheaper alternative to GHL. The flow sensors (propeller vs. no moving parts), dosers, control units, powerbar, etc... The Titron tester looks like a shoe vs a consistent design aesthetic on the GHL. So far I like the availability of spare parts for GHL, the better LED fixture, stirrer, and the cabinet is a great option for those like me that hate clutter.

I was thinking about having both, I already have the apex with the cor-15 and the trident and now I am getting the kh director and possibly the profilux 4, I like the look of Ghl better and also that they have better built parts, but I like that Neptune has a return pump for their system also seems like it’s easier to find stuff/add ons for Neptune unlike with Ghl how it’s extensive googling to find anything for it , I would love a controller that looks like Ghl profilux 4 with superior build quality but that is readily available like the Neptune apex with a high user base, by the way Ghl does have a oxygen sensor it’s half the price 300$ and 80 for the expansion card vs 100$ for the pm3 and 600$ for the oxygen sensor
