Call me 'Little Sunshine' (A nickname for Aleister Crowley) Call me 'Mephistopheles' (A demon Faust sold his soul to in the legend) Promising to be a constant companion, Tobias refers to himself as 'Little Sunshine,' as the infamous British Occultist Crowley jokingly called himself. Then Tobias refers to himself as Mephistopheles, a demon who granted wishes in exchange for one's soul. Mephistopheles offers council, and was a complex, conflicted character who pleaded Faust not to sell his soul to him in the tale. The song describes its character as a companion, a demon, possibly a mage, and ultimately, the Devil. It's a haunting and catchy song, and the lyrics are classic tongue-in-cheek. Very on-brand for Ghost. I wouldn't expect anything less.

I love how this combines a modern sound with a sound usually only achieved by 1980's hairbands. Ghost is an amazing band

I love how this song subverts really supportive lines like "you can always reach me" and "you will never walk alone" to convey the utter omnipresence of Mephistopheles. You'll never be rid of him. Every doubt he sows is another chance to sell your soul.

I know I am not alone when I say this band saved my life. I'm not just talking "I had a bad and it picked me up." I am in the fight of my life with cancer for the 2nd time in 6 years which my team of doctors said was impossible. IT COULD NEVER COME BACK. Yet here I am fighting not only the disease but all my mental, emotional, and spiritual things that come with it. I have bed ridden for a couple months now and watching ANYTHING Ghost gets me through. I'm near Chicago so there are opps to see them almost if not every cycle and I look forward to the day of being front row... Tobias and Ghost family, please, please know you have so much more of an impact than being a band. You speak for those who can't and there is a special place in *hell* for each of you. 6 months ago I watched my very first Ghost video. 3 concerts & countless hours of listening later I now have Ghost & I have everything.

3:04 That vocal harmony is 🤤. Something about suspended and add9/add11/etc. vocal harmonies…it always brings it to the next level. I don’t know why more artists don’t use that. It’s SO effective.

This song came out the day before my daughter was born and hits me everytime I hear it. I've also used it as her lullaby.

It sounds like a perfect mix between Prequelle and Meliora. The music is actually so complex and put together so perfectly that it takes several listens to hear all the nuances. Probably be discovering new things for months to come. It's clear Tobias is a musical mastermind.

First time I ever heard this song after giving the album a go recently..... *bawled my eyes out.* This was incredibly comforting, especially because I had been feeling so alone... The album Infestissumam was my introduction to this band and it has been a comforting presence in the background for years.
