Dark Moon is the most important entry in terms of canon and gameplay influence, yes.

Ti, Hero of the Starlight, Stardust, and Superstars Too bad the mission style and overall art/music style changed. I like LM3 how it takes the best of both games

@@teaze1642 In fairness, Luigi's Mansion was a very generic spooky and Dark Moon actually injected some of its own flavor to the idea. The artstyle was also majorly enhanced, as when the first game tried slapstick it kind of fell flat and didn't work as well. Next Level knows how to probably play with Luigi and the personality of various characters through animation alone, and that's impressive. As for music, yes, it is an entirely subjective preference, but Dark Moon was more varied and interesting in compositions due to the various locations, and 3 plays off of that.

@OG mastermind shark no it is the possessor catching theme just reused and remixed slightly for ghosts...there is a ghost variation of the possessor capture theme as well but it goes unused in the game files of Dark Moon

To be fair, given how zany the original is, a remix would be almost impossible.

Because the original is completely nonsensical and all over the place, so to remix it would be... kinda impossible.

You get it! I saw a few comments (like...1...but same difference.) hating on the fact some of em are remixes on LM2. LM2 was the first game in the series I played, and I loved it.

Tolkien Rogers Its not this comment section in particular, just in general. People like to hate on Dark Moon because it’s different from the original, and conversely they do the same with LM3 because it takes elements from DM and expands upon them.
