Today we fixed/adjusted the ghost controls zombielock and hopefully for good this time. We've had trouble with it falling out of alignment with the gate latch. We usually have to adjust the gate up or down once a month.

They need to make the catch side of the lock longer. Like you said, there's very little tolerance for clearance with the size they are!

Issues I had with my Zombie gate lock, background I did troubleshooting with Ghost Representative, concluded bad lock. I did further investigation and determined one of the wires had an open short, I found a company that sold a three wire cable and replaced it. The next issue I had was the lock being out in the elements created corrosion I put a socket on the nut holding the latch mechanism and twisted it several times, my latch no longer sticking open. Maintenance tip spray WD40 in latch to prevent issues. $199.00 five year old lock saved twice for less than $25.00. Also I purchased a 30 watt solar panel of Amazon and added it to the existing panel from Ghost and that has corrected my issues with the gate not opening during freezing temperatures.

The receiver is adjustable if you only need a half inch. mine is welded.

Hi. I thought I would add a tip on how I fixed my ghost control gate lock system. I have a 16 food gate and was having the same problem you was having so I purchased a gate wheel from a farm supply store, I believe it was tractor supply, and mounted to the bottom end of the gate and adjusted the gate to where the mechanical lock end was a little low so that the wheel would keep a little weight on it and always guide it to the latch at the correct vertical position. This is a worry free permanent fix.

Love it! Great tip and thank you for sharing with everyone. I've considered that, but I've worried that the wheel would drag or make a rut in the driveway. Has that been your experience at all or am I overthinking it?

@@honestreviewsandhowtos put a flat concrete paver or pour one yourself with a groove for the wheel, wont dig any rut. I plan to do this for mine

I agree. Nothing is going to get trapped in it that can't slip out. Not like a garage door coming down on top of you. If anyone figures out how to disable let us know!

I’ve been going through this with mine too. I was gonna tell you guys you could put a piece of black gorilla tape over that speaker inside the box so you’re not announcing to the neighbors within 10 miles that you’re leaving and going but you can still be aware by the beep instead of turning completely off. You can still hear the beeps, but it’s not so piercing. There is nothing as annoying as after you hear the Zombie Lock lock, the few seconds of gritty anticipation, then you hear the click and the gate swings open! Arrrrgh!!!

Can you do a video on maintenance of the Ghost control and also how to adjust it when it keeps opening back up? I have looked all over for it, but there is nothing. I would sure appreciate 🙏 😌

Having same issue when I close with remote. It closes. Latches. Then reverses and opens again on its own.

What you have to do is adjust the "Jog" on the controller when this happens. there are 3 buttons on the top right of the board, open, set, close. press and hold the open jog button, then press and hold the close job button until the gate is exactly where you want it. I like to have it just barely hit the latch. When you are happy with the placement press and hold the "set" button until it beeps. Then you'll be good to go. Hope this helps!

@@honestreviewsandhowtos I do this what feels like too many times. How often do you have to readjust jog close, esp when it is windy? If none, what is your fix to the issue.

Mine doesn’t latch properly either. The gate latch is too small. 3 inches needs to be six inches. Weather changes cause shrink or swell in the metal gate and the wood post. A bigger latch might solve this. ALSO, my gate only works part time. Lots of beeps, and switch off and ons to get it to work. When it works, it is great. But I mostly have to get out of the truck to get it to work. Wish I had not bought this thing.

Darn sorry to hear that! Ours works great, minus having to adjust the gate about once a month or so for this latch. The latch tolerances are so low because if they were bigger you could just pop it open with your finger. It's frustrating, but we believe worth it in the end to have that extra security. I'd definitely contact ghost controls if your gate isn't functioning correctly. They have been great for us with questions and help.
