It doesn't really try to be a game. More an "experience". That's the difference to a real masterpiece like the shalebridge Cradle. Spooky without jumpscares AND they put actual gameplay in it as well. Still lof does what it does very good.

boring game is a boring game.. atmospheric and decent story but since you know you cant die/fight/or lose it really removes the scary aspect to this game.

From what I have seen so far there are a few more puzzles than that. The problem is the game lets you skip most of them and move on if you don't have the right item instead of forcing you to do the puzzle to move on.

They said on a chilluminati stream that they lost the footage and redoing it would spoil all the scares so they decided to stop it.

Sam Muhra Tom enjoys puzzles and problems to solve, there not so much in this game. Also Tom is able to predict alot of what's going on, therefore from his body language you can tell he's not enjoying it.

Shiny Namikarp Yeah, the gimmick (and in this case, I think calling it a gimmick is justifiable) isn't enough to carry the whole game. It's aesthetically nice and well made, but it's more just a visual experience than an actual game. You basically can't interact with the game beyond following the path laid out for you and opening a few drawers, and the lack of actual gameplay kills it. After walking around for over an hour, basically everything they throw at you becomes repetitive, and the bits of the game that actually serve to develop the story are few and far between. All in all a neat "game", but it could have been half an hour shorter, because there's a fine line between atmospheric and just downright boring.

They are entertainers. Constantly running away from things isn't going to give them time to make jokes and stuff. It might be fun but I don't think in the long-term people would watch it as much.

At the end of Sylvio they said they didn't want games that would kill them or force them to run away. They're down for jump scares or occasionally making a mistake that will kill them, but nothing as intense as Resident Evil

I like that they play the semi-shit ones, though... I don't think RE7 would have enough laughs

They're kind of more like action games, which I don't think really fits with the humor that Simon and Tom bring

These are action scary games... they can't be compared with athmopheric horror games Tom and Simon seem to enjoy playing. If LoF is really not the best (I enjoyed Sylvio a lot), I really like these type of games. There are soooo many KZfaqrs playing action horror games, so if you like hysterical screaming, jumpscare fests and fast paced gameplay, you'll have no problem finding channels full of this kind of content. I, for myself, don't think it would fit well with Tom and Simon style. You can't call games "boring" just because you like fast paced action horror style.
