55 and hell yeah - perhaps they fill a void for those from this era. I see Ghost as being very eclectic. They're all over the place with ballads like this and Call Me Little Sunshine but yet some riffy rock stuff like Kaisarion and Griftwood - heck yeah. Hey don't forget about the new Maiden stuff out there. Those guys are still shredding with Writing On The Wall.

Thank the co-wroter Joakim Berg. His band Kent, that played from the early 90's until 2016, were the biggest band in Sweden and they were also huge in Scandinavia. They were sort of indie rock, they also had a more electro oriented period later in their career. Their frontman Joakim Berg is a great songwriter. He's got something special.

He also used a distinct melody from a modonna song i think when he sings "i'll be the shadow" and "we will go softly". An then there is the riff starting at 2:30 which sounds like whitesnakes still of the night. The whole song is loaded with these similarities.

Expect nothing less from Opeth's guitarist. This was his first album with Ghost.

The drums also pop out a lot more than other albums as well. This album made me realize that I couldn't name a single song by Ghost with double bass prior to this.

I feel that. Been playing along time. The dude playing lead has a lot of " sound " to his hands. It basically means all the pieces on this album kind of reach out in their own way when he stretches out. He is amazing. That feel is in his hands not in his equipment. From all of the other albums which I love them all. This lead dude has something different.

Not cheesy imo. That focused melody and guitar tone can absolutely bring me to tears. Also the lyrics are pretty devastating too. For as popular as they are, they're still terribly underrated.

Cheesy need not always be "cheesy", a good pop-hook done right has tremendous emotional effect, that's just brilliant songwriting...that's the point

Musically, Styx did the same thing on the album Paradise Theatre. The album opens with A.D. 1928 and the theme, then the second to last song, Half-Penny Two-Penny, segues into the closer, A.D. 1958 and the theme. Good stuff.

That was when you wanted to be a fan at. Why some may ask. Its right where you love the satanic awesomeness but arent stuck on it having to be strictly satan all the time. Prequelle is by far the best put together album therefore making it the best album period. Even though you have multiple huge huge songs that by themselves are the best song compared to any single on prequelle. You cant beat how well prequelle was done in every aspect. Unlikely, as the women he targeted would not have gone with a "foreigner," especially not one they identified as Jewish. He had an upperclass "toff" accent, or affected one.

Ghost is one of the few bands that get better with each album. I can't wait to see what they do on the next one!
