Not really. Ultimately, there isn't very much difference between the original PC release and the Remaster. It's a great boost for console players who only played the 720p Xbox 360 version or the not-even-HD PS3 version, but its still using the original textures and 3D models. That's why its so cheap, half the price of a normal new release, despite being a brand like Ghostbusters.

I wasn't complaining about it =p This is to be expected when the original studio that made the game ceased to exist years ago. I'm just glad the game is available to buy again so more people can enjoy it. I'm also kind of glad that this video hasn't been made obsolete by it either, imo. I'm just saying that, since this was made using the PC version, the remaster isn't going to really offer all that much, if any, further visual enhancement over what's here. You can absolutely make your own 'movie' adaptation if you want, but in my opinion, it'd be better to do your completely own take on it, rather than a 'version' of this, with your own structure of edits and cuts.

He keeps doing this deep voice trying to sound charming and cool ends up mumbling a lot of his lines. Dan akroyd was definitely the right choice to teach gameplay since he always took this subject seriously and smart of the game developers to lend some of the instructions to Harold Ramis too. Ernie Hudson is given so much more to do and sounds louder and just funnier than he did in the movies. Alyssa Milano sounds like a talking baby. It’s interesting to hear them all be in character, game was definitely the best medium for this part of the story

Aykroyd just doesn't like wasting time but his love for it is unquestioned. You're right on the money. To be fair Murray definitely warmed up to Afterlife. They just took their time getting there. If we're being honest he phoned in his performance in ghostbusters and ghostbusters 2 as well; remember the looking at the camera scene? lol I'm not saying he's a bad actor or anything, I'm simply saying it's very on-brand for him and I can barely notice.

Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson sounded energetic and invested and Brian Doyle Murphy chewed the scenery every single time for his VO 😆

When gozer did her flippy thing over the ghostbusters the movie and then they fire at her and she vanishes, that wasn’t their doing though they thought it was. Gozer transcended from its last chosen form into a realm where it had to take on a new one, the old form couldn’t exhaust outside of the gate way. Ergo “choose the form of the destructor.”

Probably not. I severely doubt the Remastered version is going to add or enhance anything noteworthy to the original PC version used here. The benefits will mostly be apparent on consoles.

Nope. Whilst I understand that situation, I'm afraid it is what it is (and the source files are now gone. This was edited from over 500GB of footage since I choose FRAPS quality over the compression of alternatives. Can't hold onto that much video forever). It was difficult enough cutting it down to this amount (hence there being an extended version) since character development, plot details and jokes are spread throughout rather than presented in a tight fashion. The script and pacing was put together for a 8 or so hour game experience, so cutting that down to 3 hours whilst keeping it coherent was always a challenge. Just the cutscenes alone, with no in-game events to tie it together into an actual narrative, is about an hour long.

That's a shame, I'm sure someone will figure out a way to cut certain unnecessary parts out.. Was the whole revisit to the restaurant necessary?, you know this better than me, its your baby. I would however have liked this turned into a fan film, or even a Hollywood film staring a new cast portraying the fathers of the original cast. But sure, I guess I'll try to play the game again.

Blahhh There is a shorter version that clocked in at about 2hr 30 that I made back in 2011 and is still on my channel, though its in two parts and lower quality, both by age and being sourced from the Xbox 360. I could have been more aggressive with cutting like in that video, but having already done that once, these are more like Directors Cuts with extra bits.

And it was just as good as the movie would be.

I think it could be possible to cut it down a little if some of the less cinematic game play featuring only the rookie were removed and any good lines the stars say from behind him or over the radio were saved and the audio slotted into other appropriate places. If I had the time I might try to do something like that myself just for fun. But really, that's a great piece of work you have there. The cinematic bits of this game and the great dialogue really make me wish this script could have been made into an actual movie.

this is the true third movie those other ones were variations of this third movie. The girl team is 4 but idw's comic series takes place between the game and girl team movie and last october they had a cross over w the girl team and original and it explains why theres' other ghostbuster teams in alternate new yorks. There's an animated one coming (part 5) then another live action (part 6) and mine (almost written Part 7)

Yes it's canon. The opening credit at 1:50 ---Written by Akroyd, and Ramis. That's a confirmation to me It's genius, they made the player a new recruit, that way the G-Bags can be themselves.

I did do a couple of practice runs to make a note of certain triggers, etc (and tried turning the cross hair off, but that led to way too many missed shots which I knew would annoy and frustrate people). If I had access to full debug and camera tools, things would be pretty different.

BrySkye wow. As you know for almost everyone this is the real GB3. In a way you are the director / editor of GB3. I spoke to some of the coders of this game and while they are also superfans they said one thing which could have been better was if a cinematographer had been involved to make the lighting better. Some scenes feature just one light, harsh, etc. not very moody. But I don't care, it's awesome as it it. Maybe in the remake. But yeah, if you had debug tools you could actually make camera angles, closeups, portrait shots, wide shots, etc. during the voiceovers.

I've explained the problems with that before. The main one is that the game is made up of pre-rendered cutscenes (videos) as well as real-time cutscenes and gameplay. The intro, for example, is pre-rendered and will always be 30fps no matter what. I'd rather not use a faux 60fps where Vegas/Premiere try to double up and blend frames. Personally, I think if the video kept switching between 30 and 60fps between cutscenes and gameplay, that would be very noticeable and jarring. Every time a cutscene starts, you're going to really notice the framerate has been halved. Instead of that, this is a consistent framerate which, to be honest, is something most people will stop noticing after about 10 minutes unless they've let themselves become too accustomed to 60fps+. On top of that, the game is very badly optimised on PC and is more CPU dependant than it should be for what it is. Certain levels, like the library, are prone to stutters and frame drops when recording with a drop to between 45/60fps. A hardware solution like the h264 chip on my GPU couldn't deliver the quality I wanted and minimal compression alternatives like FRAPS need that the CPU cycles. Despite that, I still had to resort to Shadowplay on the library, which is why that section of the video is slightly lower quality than the rest - it's second generation h264.

Because it's the second time I've put together a movie version of the game. The first time was 5 years ago, using the Xbox 360 version. That meant 720p and it wasn't properly colour corrected so the whole image looked washed out. That is a copy of the original audio from the ad in the first Ghostbusters movie. That is the entire point, for it to sound like a badly edited cheap tv commercial that you might see watching TV at 4 in the morning. There was always a degree of scaminess to the Ghostbusters. They could be telling the truth, or they could just be 4 wise guys who are robbing you blind with made up ghost stories. We know as viewers that they are telling the truth but the rest of the world at large in the movie doesnt.

It doesn't say that it is. It was uploaded in 2016, after all. It's the second time I'd adapted the game into a feature length format though. That's what its a 'remaster' of.
