This is the one villain I clearly remember even all these years later. The way he says "Come out and play, child" was just so absolutely creepy that it legitimately disturbed me.

Me too. Back when i was a kid i didn't really understand the larger implications behind the Grundel's characterization, however the part where he would just turn up at your window and knock while asking you to let him in with that eerie yet somewhat suave slow voice legit terrified me, for years after that i would always peek a glance at the window whenever it was late at night just to make sure he wasn't there.
@xxMikePortnoyJrxx4 ай бұрын
Same, I didn't even really 'watch' ghostbusters at the time. It was just randomly on TV one day when I was about 5 or 6, and I saw a scene with this character. For a long time after, I would be too afraid to sleep in view of my bedroom window, I'd have nightmares of him telling me to "come out and play", and I didn't even know what the cartoon was that scared me so much. 20something years later, now I know.

Real Ghostbusters had a lot of great creepy ghost villains. Samhain, The Boogeyman, The Sandman, Watts, The Genie, even the unnamed ghost from the first episode. The Grundel was always particularly creepy IMO.

Even as a grown man, The Grundel is still pretty creepy to me. Both his look and his tone of voice when he speaks is really scary. Defiantly one of the best villain's The Real Ghostbusters fought if you ask me. I give props to the Extreme Ghostbusters writers for bringing him back in the episode Grundelesque, even with the change in actors he still came across as a scary guy.

"Why is it whenever we go into these situations, we never find anything cute? Its always big and mean with lots of teeth...", Peter Venkman Good lord, I loved this episode, while not one of the more powerful threats in the series this thing was terrifying for a different reason, hitting close to home. The idea of something sitting outside your window when you're a kid and it's trying to trick you into letting it inside to make you into something like itself, as a kid or the parent of a child, that is legit nightmare fuel.

Wait a minute?! Wasn't this some ghost villain (The Grundel) is from Extreme Ghostbusters?! I didn't know The Grundel from "The Real Ghostbusters" too. I did watch The Real Ghostbusters when I was toddler and small boy in the early 90s, but not this episode. But I did watch mostly Extreme Ghostbuster when I was minder in my early teens (pre-teen) in 1997 and 1998. The Grundel from Extreme Ghostbusters is suppose to be Kylie friend before turning him into him (as a substitute), then Kylie her friend back by releasing "The Grundel" from the ghost trap to turn him back and catch The Grundel again from New Ghostbusters (Kylie and others). That's is the best episode from Extreme Ghostbusters; one of my favorite episode from Extreme Ghostbuster.
