I love GI Joe, it was my first love as a kid and I have very fond memories of getting Serpentor as a kid. For a long time I didn’t have a proper Cobra Commander so Serpentor was the leader of Cobra. This figure is so big, the chariot is so big I feel like the value is there and the time and care is there, it’s an amazing figure!

The separate hood pieces match how the vintage toy was done. If my memory serves, even the sculpt to the hood is accurate to the vintage toy's sculpt, and it looks like the single piece hood is more cartoon accurate

Looks pretty darn good. Pricey but good. I like that he's bigger than even Road Block and Gung Ho. He is after all genetically engineered to be the ultimate warrior/commander.

I cancelled my pre-order for Serpentor and Dr. Mindbender for the same reason you pointed out. About this era in GI Joe is the decline for me I just really like a few original characters like Cobra Commander, Destro, ect. I feel right now I'm just trying to "rescue" (for lack of a better term) my Classified collection with all the ones I'm having to re-buy as far as just wanting the retro type style initially and having to rebuy the same figure over again. I just really want to keep the collection small also because I collect so much other stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving. I had Serpentor. I had Triple T and Sarge. I had lots of Joes. Most of my collection came in 85 and 86. I think. It wasn’t 83. I didn’t have any of the original 13. I didn’t get Cobra Commander until he had the armor. I had BATs, Cobra Stun, Armadillo tank, oh and my favorite Joe Vehicle Skyhawk. I played with that soooo much. Anyway Joes were my jam. I really like this Serpentor! He’s a bit bigger than I expected. The chariot is massive. The pair are well worth the $80 to me. My wish list are alternate hands. He should have had the same hands as Sarge. I like the vintage homage head which allows for the most movement. I like the look of the other. I just unpeg the back and it moves fine. Originally I hated Cobra La. I hated the whole idea of secret society of serpents and bugs. The original ideal was Cobra La was a hidden society in South America. Man that makes sense as a secret serpent society. So in my head cannon that’s Cobra La. Now I want Pythona, Nemesis Enforcer, and even Golobulus. That Ant like Cobra La troops seem off brand but I kind of see them as cloned/created minions of the more exalted snake people. I liked GI Joe when it was more sci fi. But the straight military side is interesting too. Anyway. Classified Joes are awesome. This Serpentor is a real treat!

I paid a little over for him on EBay. About $20 more then what he sold for. The Figure is Awesome. I think $70 maybe $75 is Fair. Wish he came with 2 more sets of different hands. I think he’s the best Classified out right now.

Got mine yesterday. There should be a retracted set of claws as well. Check your packing before throwing anything away. Like you, Serpentor represents a weird time in GI Joe for me. Pretty much the ending of me watching the show.

Mine should be here tomorrow. I'm pretty excited. I to am in the same situation you are I have no idea where I am putting him. He's going to be to big for my cobra throne.

Only G.I. Joe figure I own. Too good of a character not to grab one. Great review as always!!

Much like oil companies, I think toy companies are trying to keep a short supply, to keep prices high. I remember paying like 80 bucks for the first MP Starscream. I had Serpentor as a child, and it really wasn't my favorite. Gi-Joe for me was great due to their vehicles, and their gimmicks. I am glad they at least gave Serpentor his chariot, but for 80 bucks, it seems a little steep.

I would have loved to pick this up, but I didn't want to pay the price for it. I had the vintage one when I was a kid. Like another commentor said, I didn't have a Cobra Commander back then, so Serpentor was the Cobra leader in my collection.

Heck yes! Love your joe vids man! I'm so excited about this line! I missed the pulsecon availability by like 1 minute. Scored at 1027! Can't wait to get him as yes, I had the original when I was a kid. I agree it's when things started getting weird. But I would also say this was like gi joe right at its peak. Does that mean the same thing? Lol I need to watch the movie again. I thought it was cobra commander that had roots in cobrala, but maybe it was serpentor as well? I specifically remember he was made from the DNA of great leaders in history. Oh, and the vintage version had a more pronounced knob so you could spin the turbine! *also this new one has a mouth that opens with fangs that fold out!

Hello Mike thanks for the review and sharing your thoughts on the new Serpentor figure 🐍. He looks pretty darn good, very similar to the original I still have. I love G.I.Joe, but I just can't afford the Joes and the Black Series Figures. I wish Star Wars Black Series would get some vehicles, I love the Cobra HISS Tank that Hasbro is making and wish Star Wars would get the Imperial Trooper Transport vehicle, but I don't think it could get enough support as a Haslab project. Looks great, not a big GI Joes fan, but l do get the once I like, would get this but it's $90+ in the uk.

Cobra Commander > Serpentor Not in terms of being a competent leader, the complete opposite in fact 😁 which is why I love me some CC. But I also hate that Serpentor usurped the hilarious CC, so that’s why he represents the end-of-the-line for ARAH to me. Huh…. So does that make me a G1’r for GI JOE….wait no….that makes me a G2 GI Joe’r? Another great review Mike! Love love love your work!

Advent 📅 season?

maaaaan. I was never a joe collector but got excited for this 6 inch series and have almost all of them so far....but this and mindebender are overpriced for my blood. I can afford them (I even bought a H.I.S.S. because I want to support the cause) but can't justify agreeing to that price. Good for everyone that celebrates what they are passionate about but I can't bring myself to pay that much for these.

Should be $50…MAX…enough of Hasblow
