Puccini reused this in Manon Lescaut, 2nd. act - in the scene when the musician enter to sing Geronte's madrigale. Beautiful! What a genious!!

Michel Corboz's work is always magnificent. Having the name Corboz on a production is like sterling on silver. Listening to his work with the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne is an experience beyond words.

I just love it. And I love the horn in the background. This music is so special. Some years ago I performed it with my orchestra in Rom/Italy. Goosepimples.

my choir did the Messa di Gloria at Christmas time and it was truly amazing!. The bass section on this piece is really cool..

This brings back fond memories of participating in the university orchestra.

@Hofsteder I can't make head or tail of the point you are trying to make and I'm sure you didn't really understand mine. Puccini has always been criticised because he didn't have the 'gravity' of other well-known opera composers, but his opera is some of the greatest music expressing human emotion ever written and this non-opera piece showed his talent outside opera. That's my point pure and simple. Perhaps you can now strip yours down a bit to see if or not we have an argument here.
