I actually agree with Giannis on this one. I 100% get his frustration. His team was the best team record wise in the league and they got eliminated in the first round. I would be so upset. It’s not even funny, but what Giannis said when he asked the reporter his question was so spot on. That’s why Giannis is so good and why he’s at the peak of potentially being the best player in the league for years to come.

As deep and philosophical as Giannis answer was the reality is the end result was a failure. The expectations for the Bucks this year was another championship. They had the best regular season record. Expectations were high. Their last two games against the Heat were a “meltdown” “Disaster” and yes a FAILURE.

Eric did in fact say “Did you see this *season* as a failure”, not “Did you see *the opening round of the playoffs* as a failure”. The Bucks did very well during the great majority of the season, but Miami just seemed to get the better of them during the playoffs.

It's the reporter's job. Giannis could have just said "I don't see it that way and here is why..." The reporter is just giving the opportunity to say something like that. Giannis decides to make it about the reporter unnecessarily.

Giannis is right too. The people who view these things as failures instead of an opportunity to learn and get better are the ones who will often get stuck being stagnant. Sure they didn’t accomplish what they wanted to this year, but is an opportunity in that to get better

Injuries have stopped many players early in their careers. It's unwise to plan with having lots of time when the truth is nobody knows and it'd be wiser to embrace failure than to get worked up over it.

Well, Giannis had a 3 million dollar promotion this year, unlike the reporter so he should do better. For the 2x MVP on the 1st seed team from east to go out in first round against the 8th seed play-in Heat 1-4 is a failure FR. Most PPL were talking Beast from the east and Bucks in the finals against splash brother and Golden State. This is a failure for Giannis. Wonderful that the reporter is asking him the same question again this year xD

First Giannis interview I’ve ever seen since im not a basketball guy just gotta say thats a fantastic mentality he has. Other guys in the league would’ve gotten hot and handled it poorly or ignored him especially when the guy asks 2 years in a row just for a reaction, he held this dork accountable for his actions in front of the world.

Giannis saw him coming miles away with his leading question. He shut that down quickly. Yet he remained polite despite being annoyed by the question. The way he said "Eric", that's the most annoyed I've seen him in interviews. And that reporter thought it was a rethorical question when Giannis asked if all the years MJ didn’t win the championship were failures 😂
