Solo camping a new island 40km offshore to find some clear water. Managed to get a big painted crayfish which made for a delicious catch and cook meal... camping and surviving off the ocean... is there anything better.

So true, I searched for a restaurant serving lobster right after watching this - ended up at The Lobster and Beer where they were serving "Grilled Lobster Tails".......turned out to be tiny langoustine tails - totally needed the beer after that! 🤣🤣

There is something very calming about watching people go out in nature and getting their own food. It's like watching how life is supposed to be. Here in Europe it's harder than ever to do this.

@@bmck5002 There is some truth to that, especially in Europe. Throughout most of the past millennium, wild animals have been the property of the king. It was a pretty serious matter to be caught stealing game from the king.

A lobster has large pincers..Some like the Southern Rock Lobster don't. Tasmanians refer to the latter as Crayfish. Fresh water Crayfish have pincers and they are referred to as Crayfish.Giant Fresh water Tasmanian Crayfish have massive pincers also known as either Lobsters or Crayfish. Just to be confusing either name seems right.

@@kevinbutcher995 Yeah soz to be clearer Lobsters live in salt water and Crayfish live in fresh water...Even though in Tasmania we call our Spiny Rock Lobsters Crayfish they aren't. So it seems Lobster species can have pincers or not.Fresh water Crayfish do have pincers. I think the name Crayfish is just used loosely like in NZ. Hope that was clearer..🤔
