It takes awhile but one evening you just start to feel the place “click” with you and from that point on its no longer a camp but a home. It becomes hard to imagine leaving as a piece of your heart ♥ becomes attached to that place, even years later revisiting will bring back good memories, it’s not something you can get from the modern one night stop and go camping style most people are used to. It’s a “special” B2B bond we can relate to across time with our ancestors.

This is what my life was supposed to be. I was always an adventurer and always had a wonderful girl at my side. You inspired me to leave my life behind after a crappy cheating divirce once my kids are in college to live that life. Ty for the inspiration

@doire aintu solar or from the boats alternator / batteries, they weren’t truly shipwrecked lol, it’s still a form of reality TV. Hence the spearfishing gear etc. they would be truly reckless if they didn’t have emergency plans and safety equipment nearby, no one wants to die in the name of filming an adventure.

What you call crayfish, we call spiny lobster. Crayfish, or crawdads, to me, are small freshwater relatives of your crayfish! All are delicious.

Sneak up on flats fish-do not go splashing about. Also in shin to knee-deep water, put on your polaroid glasses. If worse comes to worst, get ahead of them and get a crab or slab of clam in their path and let it sit there.. After you hook up, prepare to have a load of line.

The lobsters that I had caught would fight like crazy even more so when they are out of the water. Maybe that was a frozen one before filming. Ha ha.

When I lived in Puerto Rico I discovered the green coconuts are better than the dried ones on the whole. Green ones for water and the meat is a jello consistency. The old ones for traditional coconut.

I seriously doubt us watching you eat crayfish (lobster) is as enjoyable as you actually eating it. Pretty cool episode though, I enjoyed the survival stuff you built with the palms. I would have enjoyed some commentary explaining it as well. I also enjoy the quiet times where we are just watching you and listening to the ocean, a different pace from the other channel.

Fresh crayfish, grilled and juicy. Nice meal. Great adventure. Will be waiting to see how you do with the slingshot on the wild chickens. They are hard enough with a small caliber rifle.

there 2 types of coconut, the "Lubi" and "Butong". "Lubi" mostly use for extract coconut milk and food ingredient's while "Butong " most you can eat it or make buko salad :). The one you ate was a Lubi. You can still eat Lubi but you can get stomach ache for that. Butong is much more delicious if you going to eat it raw.
