What an excellent video! Great comparison and great points across the board. I just subscribed! Quick clarification for folks: all three of the knives in this video are actually made in Maniago, Italy. While the original framelock version of the Riv was made by Reate in China, these liner lock versions are made in Maniago. I had the chance to ask Jesper about that decision at a show last year, and he said it was mostly just a logistics thing -- they were always very happy with the Reate-made ones, but moved the liner ones to Italy just due to how production timelines were lining up across a variety of models. I asked if they'll still be working with Reate on future models, and he said simply "Of course!".

First off, glad you liked it! I've taken a good bit of inspiration from some of your work, which has really highlighted the appetite for in-depth, detailed reviews of knives on here. Second, thank you for the correction! Given that, Maniago has stepped up their game pretty significantly, which is clear on some of their other more recent work. That's a great sign for Giant Mouse!

@@CTKKnives Oh you're kidding, you've seen my videos before? That's so cool! I'm always surprised when people have any idea who I am. But yes -- there's definitely an appetite out there for the small details! How fun. And I agree completely -- good news for GM and in general, because the Italian OEM space just hasn't been competitive with China on certain fronts for a while, grinds being a big one of them.

This is such a great video I've been waiting to pick up a Giant Mouse and this comparison is invaluable for figuring out what I might want. Thank you again!

You're very welcome. Glad it was helpful! Whichever you pick, I think you'll be happy, though there's obviously clear reasons to prefer each one.

Beware, I also thought I wanted a GiantMouse, and now that I have 3 of them (2 fixed, one folder), I still want a GiantMouse. And I'm sure I will want a GiantMouse after that. They are almost as addictive as Spydercos.
