Now I understand why a few of my plants have downsized! I thought it was because I repotted them, but it's because they never attached to their new pole. Thanks for this! I'll be very interested to see how the air layering goes for you 😊🌱

I find using plank in pots is a waste of progress in the end. Once you pass a certain height a wood in a potting mix is like building a fence post with no cement. Itll eventually lean. What I usually do is build a plank and base from the beginning. The base and plank is a 90 degree fixture that gets even more stable the heavier and bigger your pot since thats sitting on your base which holds the plank securely. Hopefully your air layer is successful and best of luck with this giant👍🏽

hello! in my experience, putting aroids in a very loose well draining mix and watering them everyday. yes. everyday. will make them grow and root faster. im not really sure why but i literally planted my cutting with just coco husk and some moss. no soil. and it never dies. it can't be overwatered. even if you let it sit in residual water.

Vertical Space Time continuum. Haha. Life happens sometimes.. you’ll get her back on track in no time! I have a giant golden pothos that’s about 15 feet long maybe more.. growing on top of my aquariums, rooting out of an aquarium sprouting leaves underwater… with more heart shape leafs the size of a dinner plate and stem about 1/8” inches diameter. I have no idea what I’m gonna do with it!!! It’s so long but I also hate to cut it at this point.. I wish I could get it to anchor somehow maybe I need to bring a whole tree trunk inside 😂 kidding. I managed to prop one of the underwater tank babies by putting it directly into a dome. I’ve also been considering potting the Giant Mother up in soil.. I’m just keep putting it on the back burner. If anyone reads this suggestion would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

How do you keep the wooden plank from getting moldy? I want to stake some plants, but I'm worried about mold. I often get mold on the soil, after a while even root rot. One time I used a disposable chopstick as support but it quickly got moldy.
@TechplantChannel

it just gets moldy, I could cover it in plastic or something i guess, or use a more expensive hard wood. Im still experimenting with pine so maybe ill abandon it

It's jade pothos, the same plant you can find in your garden center. Look up everything Plants youtube channel he has some good examples of getting them going on planks of wood. But yeah if you grow them up something and they root to it which is key. They will look like this! Good luck and have fun

They want to climb so they can make these giant leaves but we want them to be runners and vines so we let them hang.. I had no idea that I had been stunting my aeroids, that's the way I was taught they should grow. Now that I know better and have such great instruction to remedy, they're all sending out new growth after only a few days

Not many smooth surfaces in nature for these types of plants to grow up.....probably why they choose rough surfaces like tree trunks to grow up 🤔🤔 Try ditching the smooth plank and replace with a tree branch with bark on it???😎😎
