I've wanted an E-Bike for some time now, and the Giant Reign E+1 2022 ticks all the boxes for many reasons. Although this bike is by no means cheap, compared to other brands the value for money and the spec you get is second to none. This particular bike comes in at £6299 and I purchased it from Solent Cycles in Fareham. Speak with a chap called Mike and he'll sort you out with ease.
www.solent-cycles.co.uk/
The Giant Reign E+1 2022 comes with Fox 38 performance Elites up front rocking 170mm of travel, at the rear 160mm Fox X2 performance elite, XT group set and a 170mm dropper on the XL model. As standard you'll get the 625wh battery which will last for most EPIC adventures if used correctly in the various power modes.
The PWX-3 motor comes with a 2 year warranty while the frame is covered for life with the original owner. I don't think you can go wrong with that at all. Knowing the money you've spent gives you good package overall.
I'm still massively stocked on this bike, and although its taken me forever to purchase one I'm glad I waited for the right bike. This like I say ticks all the boxes, if you ride it just once you'll understand why!.
Enjoy

Good job with this video. This and many more reviews of the Reign E+ convinced me to buy one. I got a fantastic deal. $5,300 + taxes=Total $6,095 Canadian. I love this bike. I have to disagree with one topic of your assessment which is using it without power. Turned off. If you ride for a while on it and then turn it off you will of course feel that you are struggling and had you simply got off the bike and used an acoustic Reign, you would feel the same way. It's all relative and what your body and mind get used to. I drove my E+ for 3 weeks about 4 times a week and one day my daughter came to visit and wanted to go biking so I took my acoustic Reign. I actually checked the wheels to see if the brakes were dragging. But everything was fine. It's amazing what you get accustomed to. I went out with friends with my E+ yesterday but they had acoustic bikes and I kept the power off and it was fine. It's a much heavier bike but there is no restriction in pedaling. But when you turn the power on again it feels like a new bike all over again. I have the 2023 and in the Giant App, you can change the Torque and Launch as well as Support Level which is cool if you bike with someone who only has 55NM Torque you can matchit. Again good job on the video and I think Giant is a good bang for your buck.

I got the 2+, it's amazing. I got one for the same reason as you, cause i wanted one. Time is limited, i go out on my bike to have fun (the fitness is just a bonus), always puts a smile on my face. On my normal bike i'd get a few runs in at the local place i ride, on this i can get so much more done.

had mine for a few months. it's awesome. as an all around, yet descent oriented bike, it's hard to beat. geometry is spot on, the suspension firepower is incredible. it can be set up any way you want. as you said, low flip chip is close to useless, the bike is very low and slack as it is.

Did you buy the 2022 model? Do you know whether there are important differences between the 2022 and the later models, eg 2023 and 2024 (apart from the fact that they come with 800 wh battery).

Hi Mike great review and nice to see you loving the bike so much. The bike is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Some websites say am a large some say I’m an extra large. How tall are you and what made you go for the XL ? I am just over 6 foot but have Long torso and arms which is more my worry.

The motor noise at low cadence is fairly good, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ot-jja-Lms_Pnnk.html . However on high cadence its an almost unbearable high pitched whine! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gcBmhLGpysvcf3k.html . And yes I tested with different grades of road and power assist levels, noise mostly depends on how fast you pedal (cadence).

20 miles and 3000 ft of elevation is not that impressive. I would expect more given Giant's specs. For instance, I rented a Trek Rail 7, that did 32 miles with 3200ft of climbing on a battery with the climbs in the tour mode and the descents/flat areas in Eco. I'm considering the Reign but would want at least 35 miles range on around 3000+ feet of climbing.
