Giant Reign E+. First E-Bike Ride.

Hey Froffers,
Electric mountain biking, it’s not for everyone and TBH I wasn’t sure if it was for me……….. UNTIL I TRIED IT!!!! Far out, holly hell, damnnnnnn. Thanks to Lance and his extra E-MTB we had the sickest day in Dwellingup. The E-mountain biking thing has been around for a while, it’s really taken off and now I understand why. It makes everything so EASY. The ups are no longer anxiety inducing pain caves. Riding up the hill is an absolute breeze on the Giant Reign E+ and I think I’m sold. All I need is a spare 10k 🤔
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed making it. Thanks heaps for watching legends.

Nice one froff. Ebikes are a lot of fun. I didn’t get into the sport for the fitness, so I have no problem with bike laps lol.

Feel like you haven't earned the down, decrease the assist, step back in time and feel the burn. Only difference from an armish bike is at the end of the day you would have doubled the vert and doubled your fun.

I have thee Reign E+2 and love it, can handle full on double blacks to blues. Soaks up big drops and jumps so smoothly. It is surprising easy to get off the ground and tracks super well due to the weight.

That was so sick 🤘. I want that bike. Ebikes cop a bit but I look at my position. I’m 53, had a lot of health issues and struggle on climbs and can only punch out for two hours but I farking love MTB . Now these bikes give me a chance to keep doing it for many years to come. Great vid Man

Trying to decide between this and a turbo Levo alloy comp. I’ve ridden the turbo levo but haven’t ridden the giant yet. It’s cheaper and specced with shimano instead of sram. But I guess it comes down to how it feels power wise. The Levo had a bit of run on which felt weird.

Check that your "run on" is not like the "squirt feature" on Bosch motors. You can do a quick 1/4 turn, and it will run on a bit. That is so that you can avoid peddal strikes on rocks etc (because pedal strikes on a BB hooked to a motor isn't the best strategy for long life).

@@Froff I keep thinking about starting a channel of my own but when i heard seth say he spends 40 hours a week to make his vids i kinda put me of , how many hours do you reckon you spend editing aside from the riding cheers mate .

My 1st ever MTb ride was on a ebike So unreal in comparison! But man I just don’t want to get one because I’ll never go back and lose all my fitness I think 😳

Kinda feel like if you want more than 150mm travel your not in it for the climbs so may aswell get your own personal shuttle right?

Not in my experience mate , went from a Trek Fuel ex8 140-130 that I was constantly bottoming out with max volume spacers to a Scott Ransom 920 - 170 F& R which climbs every bit as well and I rarely use the full lock out mode ! I hear all the e-bike riders trying to justify their transition to you but really their only justifying it to themselves because deep down they all know it’s BS & their just lazy Mo Fos with the cry 😢 “ But it’s in ECO mode “ lol 😝 Truthfully though if it’s gets you of the couch & in the bush it’s all gravy 😜🤟BTW I’m almost 54 and love the challenge of a technical climb almost as much as the DH especially when you toast guys 10-20 years younger 😎

Try a new Trek Fuel EXe before you buy anything. It's a mtb and a Emtb and great to ride without the motor On. Flickability and pops nicely off jumps. Finally they have built a mtb for the slow learner who didn't even know that they didn't know. If you're ego is looking for a trip try one. E=Mtb²

Unless your mate already did it, wait till you try an eebs unlocked/US region. That 24kph is too slow... 31kph seems perfect. The other thing to note on the comment "i feel like ive done nothing", not sure if you use a garmin with a HR strap, but your body still works pretty hard, I find i just dont get that over exerted puffing :D So you dont feel wrecked, and get a great workout. its win/win.
