I'm listening to this at 1.5 speed to get the original tempo. It's so close that you can listen to this at 1.5 and the original at normal on different tabs and they match up.

McCoy Tyner also used 5ths and other intervals for his chord voicings, not just 4ths.

I don't understand.. why throw so much words without trying to make it match with the phrasing ? I mean the performance is impressive but it's like you took Coltrane's wikipedia article and tried to sing it.. makes no real sense

Thanks for the comment! I did end up stressing syllables in odd places to make it fit the melody but I wasn't overly concerned with that for this particular project since it did the job of helping me learn the solo and remember the timeline of Coltrane's life. The words are a summary of Lewis Porter's book "John Coltrane: His Life and Music."
