Yeah, they burried the Tripods underground for thousands, if not millions of years after seeding Earth with life, observing the activities of mankind, waiting for a critical bio mass to harvest, as food, fuel and terraforming agent, turning their bodies into red weed to make the planet more suitable for martian life. Their primary role was to eliminate all resistance to make way for the smaller handling machines harvest the bio mass of sentient life, particularly humans for their blood, also as fertiliser and as a planetary terraforming agent, since their worlds resources are depleted and their race is dying out due to an energy/food crisis, in a desperate attempt, with their technology they seek, search and seed a suitable planet with life forms and organisms, in the hope to acquire enough material and resouces to rebuild their crumbling empire.

@@Kolonol1 Ever heard of this word called ADAPTATION, that's what the 2005 film is, nothing more, nothing less, it's just an adaptation of the novel with Spielberg's own flair to it. They even said so themselves that they didn't want to completely do what everyone else has done (aka literally every single War of the Worlds adaptation of the novel prior) and what they did worked, plus I'm not a huge fan of stories going "oh London is the heart of Earth" as if only ONE COUNTRY makes up a whole fucking planet, 2005's adaptation extends that the invasion would be happening EVERYWHERE, not just one single fucking location.

In the Book the deadliest weapon the Martians had was the Black smoke ( Chemical Warfare) fired from "rockets" which they started using to destroy the artillery from range so they would not lose anymore tripods. They also used it to clear large areas of life.

yes, im the devloper of the mod and in the file the sheild streath is around 45,000 sheild health and 8,000 ish for the regular health. but only take damage from rockets
