Regarding the PAL games, here's a comment from a Discord I'm on: "The leading theory is that NTSC versions didn't include french localization until well into the PSX's life, so in order to sell into Canada they just decided to make one SKU for everywhere that's not Japan. And the cheapest way to do that was to use pal isos for whatever games didn't have multilanguage support in ntsc builds" This is the only thing I've heard that makes total sense.

Regarding the PS1 Laser issue, it was the heat generated that warpped the lenses housing mechanism, so the laser didnt sit at the correct distance/angle from the CD. Turning it upside down remedied this issue

I love Jeff, but he never liked Resident Evil 1 and thinks MGS doesnt have enough gameplay? These games were great for their time, always will be. Early 3D had lots of limits, so creating something memorable was about style, sound and play ability. Getting good camera control and finer gameplay details took awhile to get better.

One time back in the 90's my father was talking to me at the dinner table. I didn't approve of what he said so I told him to calm down Shakey Jake. Man he got so mad! The two of us still laugh about it from time to time all these years later.

These days I prefer to revisit this era in the form of current gen remakes. If I'm feeling really nostalgic I can always hook up my original modded PSX. Somehow that laser is still kickin'.

Many great memories. Rungo's music is still awesome. With that, I was so excited for this mini when released and after everything I'm so out. Kinda sucks. Oh, well. Life goes on.

The most baffling game on here is the PS1 version of Persona 1 with the bad localization and half of the content cut out Like they increased exp and decreased encounters but forgot to increase the money so you have to grind a shit ton to buy stuff If anyone is interested in a good version, the PSP is complete and is pretty good

The time limit on GTA was the demo (at least on PC). I played it so obsessively the game became “see how much you can do in these five minutes” and a few years later when I got the full game I didn’t know what to do without that constraint so it was a surprisingly empty feeling. Still kind of an underrated game though!

Appreciate the hell outta this: was disappointed when I saw the game line up but still been undecided whether to get it or not unless it gets hacked. Seeing the thing in action and just your reactions going through the titles has helped a lot. I already own a PSone and even with rarer games I could still build a decent collection of games of my own for the same/less price of the console. It's not worth buying this just to get a slightly better picture on my TV for a couple games

I still have my ps1 in a shoebox and the only game I ever had desire to go back and play was tekken 3...and maybe Soul Blade. I’m curious if anyone would find this product engaging. The one thing I find fascinating is the audio tracks that are on full blast in a lot of these games. Developers must have loved that CD audio.

what you get for $100 is good value, the PS2 on PS4 games are $9.99- $20.99 a piece, there are 20 games on the PSOne classic console, if every PSOne classic game was on PS4 and was $9.99 a piece then the lowest price for all of those 20 PSOne classic games on the PS4 would be, $9.99x20=$199.9 your getting all of those PSOne classic games and the PSone classic console with 2 controllers all for $100, it is a good deal

Ken was considered OP in Puzzle Fighter. Donavon was considered high tier. The HD version has 4 modes including a rebalanced version of the original .

Actually the US version of the NES and SNES classic came with a AC Adapter.
