Those are real baseball fans. I have had some bad experiences with Giants "fans" while growing up in Vallejo/Richmond, but I've had Giants fans who love baseball as a whole step into the situation and they're my closest friends to this day. There's always bad apples in every fandom, my team included, but they aren't the majority. Most of the time those kinds of people are too afraid to do/say anything if they don't have a crowd, or if they're online behind a keyboard. I'm glad the Giants did well this season because it makes for great baseball and an amazing series we're seeing. Any "fans" who can't separate the game from themselves are sociopaths that need a reality check, you're a person first and a fan second (referring to those that can actually hurt people because of their team).

I've seen the bad apples in SF and heard about them in LA, and it's unfortunate that those people are always there because this is the best rivalry in baseball. No apologies to Red Sox/Yankees or Cubs/Cardinals fans, but those rivalries are blowouts. Giants/Dodgers is much more even. It's the best. I hate your Dodgers, but I love that they're there and that they're good. It's worth the painful losses of 1993 or 2004 or the last 8 years of finishing behind LA. I want a worthy rival, and the Dodgers have always been that. I just never want to see them win a World Series, or indeed any playoff game, ever again. But I'm sure you feel the same about the Giants. So I'd say good luck to your Dodgers tomorrow, but I wouldn't mean it. :)

@@camicawber That's perfectly fair. I honestly just love that the Dodgers and Giants are playing against each other in the NLDS, this series is so much fun to watch. I really hope the Giants carry this momentum into the following seasons. I don't like the Giants, but I love good baseball. Watching this series with my friends who are Giants fans has been amazing so far. Crawford's catching Mookie's hit even had me excited because that was one heck of a catch; plays like those make me love baseball. If I can say one thing I feel both you and I can agree on; stop letting Angel Hernandez ump postseason games.

Best comment ever. I’m a Giants fan living in nyc and honestly I just love baseball in general. Look at where everyone was last year. We didn’t much of anything and we took it for granted.

My best friend of 51 years is a giants fan and I am a dodgers fan...we go round and round on this and our friendship is never better...we love this....we had the two best teams this year...a source of pride for both of us.

I love this stuff. I'm a Dodgers fan, and a coworker of mine is all Giants and there's always a lot of fun trash talk followed immediately by just regular baseball talk. We're fans of the game first.

Stay rivals. Start classy! I was at section 109 last night and it was pretty fun to banter and chat with the Dodger fans. There was ONE incident with a Dodger fan who refused to sit down and gave the finger to an old man and an old lady who asked her to sit (the old lady ended up calling security), but I chalk that up more to not knowing ballpark etiquette than being a fan of the rival team… I had a great time at the ballpark even with SF losing.

My few trips to the bay from SoCal I remember meeting a lot of natives who were dodger fans and the giants fans were always cool when they found out I was from socal and a dodger fan, just some funny teasing but nothing crazy, cool people up there

People forget that this is a sport. Should never be taken personally. Because the league doesnt pay us, we pay them for everything. No violence should EVER be amongst the fans in ANY sport.

I spent the first 14 years of my life in Los Angeles and I have been a Dodgers fan all my life and will be forever I respect the rivalry it makes for good baseball I have a couple of family members that are Giants fans and a friend of a friend is a Giants fan as well

The late Br. Floyd Lotito of St. Anthony's Dining Room in San Francisco once told the story of how he was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Candlestick Park. He wore his usual brown Franciscan friar frock as he made his way to the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch as the crowd cheered. "But underneath that I was wearing a Dodgers shirt" he said laughing for he was a diehard Dodgers fan.

Lol i have a buddy who grew up in L.A. and ended up moving to Orange County right before he moved to San Diego for college. The guy told me that even within Orange County (where all the rich folk live, and also where the Angels are), no one gives a shit about the Angels lmao. That's probably changing since they have Trout and now Ohtani but the fact is that the Dodgers are the most popular sports teams in L.A., probably second only to the Lakers

What a special rivalry! I fucking HATE the dodgers but some of my best friends are Dodger's fans and I love them to death. If anything I would say that our rivalry makes our friendship even more fun! Glad to be a part of this with all of you on both sides. Go Giants!

I believe the honor of "bragging rights" goes directly to the SF Giants. Case-in-point, although we were eliminated in the NLDS from the 2021 MLB playoffs in a HIGHLY questionable manner (Thank you, Mr Morales!), we still walk away from 2021 with accolades that help us to sleep at night. Please see said accolades below. 1) SF Giants are 2021 NL Western Division champions. 2) Gabe Kapler wins 2021 Manager of the Year award. 3) Buster Posey, who retired as a player afterwards and has now returned as part owner and part of upper management, wins 2021 Silver Slugger award. 4) Brandon Crawford wins 2021 Golden Glove award. On a final note, despite making it as far as they did (to the NLCS, which is pretty darn far, I admit), the LA Smurfs, er, Dodgers ultimately walk away from 2021 with zip, zilch, zero, nip, nil, nada, goose egg, etc, etc. In this case, if LA has "bragging rights," such "rights" are questionable at best. P. S. GO, GIANTS!!! ✊🖤🧡⚾️👍

After living in SF for 11 years and now LA for 13 I've realized this is a one sided rivalry. Nobody in LA seems to care any more about playing the Giants than any other team. There's no "Beat SF" chants, signs, shit talking, or anything. Go back East to a Yankees vs Red Sox game and you'll see what a real deep rooted rivalry truly is.

The Yanks, Sox, and Mets (who's colors are from Dodger Blue and Giants Orange) are more than enough for back East. Giants and Dodgers left NY for some breathing space and got it. Good for all of us here in Cali. For one, both the Giants and Dodgers Home Fields are epic stadiums. Otherwise, the rivalry here being overheated was never a good thing. It always led to violence which no one needs. Here at Dodger stadium that cost us tailgating for one example.

Red Sox would beat either Giants or Dodgers, p.s. Red Sox (9) have won more world series than either Giants(8) or Dodgers (7). Also, Red Sox are undefeated in the World Series in the 21st century. Red Sox 4 for 4 Giants 3 for 4 Dodgers 1 for 3

Worked with a chick in Financial District in San Francisco. She's from LA and became Giants fan. Please, just remain a Dodger. Us Giants fans don't need Dodgers fans that convert to Giants fans.
