Gibraltar perseveres in 1967

10 жыл бұрынGibraltar did not budge in spite of all pressure. I suppose that not much has changed in those all those almost 50 years. This 8mm travelogue will be followed by one showing the travellers crossing by ferryboat over to Tangier. See my other clip of Gibraltar prewar too.

Me and Gib........a true love affair!! Had a great time there in the 70s & 80s in the Royal Navy. Of course it's changed, everywhere does over time, and Gib is no exception. Most of the changes have been for the better, for sure. But there are some things that I wish had never changed about Gib........

gibraltar is not horrible its a great place far far far far better than the UK were I am born and bred its more like eastern Europe now ....God I wish we British were as loyal as the gibraltians...

Remember the apes raiding my block of flats in Gibraltar during the Winter months when the tourists stop coming. They had got addicted to sweets, and being intelligent creatures helped themselves to Tate Lyle sugar in the flats kitchens through a open window. Terrifying for three year old, and even today cannot watch any of the planet of the apes films !

Hey... Im doing a research for the college about this referendum... we have some pictures of that day but we can´t recognise all the people. We have seen lots of times a man with sun glasses, seems to be from Arabia Saudi, Morocco or somehing. Do you have any idea who can he be?
