Back in the 80's I tried to buy a Gibson Byrdland. When it arrived I was so excited. When the tech tried to tune it the neck snapped completely from the body. It was sent back to Gibson where they refunded my money instead of replacing it.

Fantastic playing and tone. My L5 is in wine red and I can confirm that it produces all these sounds just by the flick of the selector. Unfortunately, my playing isn't up to the same standard. 😁

I love how you miked this guitar ... seems I am hearing both the amplified guitar, and a little acoustic ... man, that sounds good! We had a Two PUP Johnny Smith in my brother's music store back around 1975 that was a real sweet guitar. Love those big box sounds, but I'll never be able to afford one. I'll have to be satisfied with my 1973 ES-355 Stereo, which does not begin to match these jazz tones!

That’s kind of you to say. Yes just a stereo mic positioned on a stool equidistant from the guitar and amp to capture a bit of both. It’s all about the blend of acoustic tones with jazz boxes. We have a Legrand here in the store also. Very similar to the Johnny Smith. Again a wonderful instrument.

What amp? I think we woud all like to know the complete signal path starting with strings I have a 137 i love through old marshall avt 275. Great sound. Sounds better than i Play 😂 Tha ks for sharing. Played one in TN at the gibso. Store. Oh so nice!
