Such a sweet beautiful couple. Y'all can sit on that big porch at home when you move in and play music for all of us. I just cant get over how just so sincere and true this family is. I find myself watching the videos more and more. If everyone in this country had a family like this America would be perfect. So many blessings to you all.

was watching a YT video with an old match maker, around 80 years old, a successful matchmaker...she asked her, "what's the secret to a successful marriage." the matchmaker said, 'treat your spouse like a stranger." , and then she explained, "dont take them for granted, treat them with the same respect as you afford strangers" Wish i had gotten that wisdom long ago. Looks like you guys already have that...God Bless you both for a long, healthy, and happy life!"

I'm a rocker and have about 24 Fenders from Strats, Teles, Jazzmasters and Jaguars. I like their sounds more than Gibsons so I guess that's why both companies do so well.

Like the video. It's great to see the next generations mention Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie played mainly Stratocasters tuned Down 1/2 Step to Eb which helped with the tension on the large strings. Keep the music going whatever you like.

Sweet! You can literally play anything on a Les Paul. I’ve always liked the rich sound they produce clean or dirty. PRS are maybe the finest guitars made but they are crazy expensive. The bloopers part was awesome I loved it.

Journey was one of the more disappointing bands I ever saw live. Not that they were bad, it was just impossible for them to sound like they did on their albums. I mean.. they were all great musicians, and I had seen and liked Neal Schon before when he played with Santana. But I was expecting for them to sound like their albums. Which I know is an unreasonable expectation, but still disappointing. It's just not possible to sound like an over produced studio album when you're playing life. There's no possible way to emulate 20 guitar overdubs live. The end of that concert sort of made up for it though. Jan Hammer Group with Jeff Beck, with Carlos Santana and Neal Schon sitting in. Three great guitarists on stage at the same time.

I have a’74 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. First Paul I bought was a used 1972 Deluxe in ‘74 for $275. Lol. Man how’s come these older ones have to price a player out of the market just to get something that was so much cheaper than when I was 20 years old? Haha. Other types of inflation has not gone up like Gibsons have.

My high school dance played the whole garage day's , ride the lightning, and our senior song album wherever you may roam. So definitely grew up playing metallica! Enter sandman has and will always be iconic! My Spyder 75 had a built in tuner 🎸🎶🎸🎶 Modeler amps are neat because you can set up your guitar to sound like anyone's settings that's famous because their built into the amp.

Now for all 3 of you to go on tour with your Les Paul's! Seriously, a nice, down to earth video. I also agree with Austin about the PRS guitars. I tested some in a local store recently and was shocked by how nice they sounded and played (I had played some before and they never hit me right). But I played the Hollowbody II and the John Mayer Silver Sky. Both wonderful models, the latter a bit pricey.

Wonderful video! It’s great to see both of you relate your musical ventures and instruments/amps. I like classic rock a lot since I grew up right smack in the middle of that era and was influenced by all the 60’s/70’s guitarists/bassists. I can’t just have one or the other guitar. Each is so different but I like my Les Paul as well as my Strat and Tele. If I had to choose one to own it would have to be the Les Paul.

To me the biggest difference between the Fender sound and the Gibson sound is the pickups. The Fender uses single coil pickups which are more susceptible to picking up noise from nearby electronics, radio transmitters, florescent lights, etc. And they are more susceptible to feedback. They are "dirtier". The Gibson uses duel coil pickups which eliminates, cancels, most all that noise and feedback. Both sounds have their place in rock music. I started out playing with a pick but after a few years of so many times of not being able to play because I didn't have my "little piece of plastic" with me, I decided I would learn to play with my fingers. I was told many times that I would never be able to play rock n roll using my fingers, and my reply was always "watch me". Though now that I've been playing slide for 20 or so years I'm in the same situation when I can't play because I don't have my "brass tube" with me. Though I have been able to improvise a slide when I needed to, same as you can improvise a pick. When I used a pick I can't count how many times I made one out of a plastic coffee can lid. My favorite guitars are ones that are so bad that people say they are unplayable, so they give them to me. My current guitar is a 1963 Harmony Stella tenor guitar; 4 strings, short scale. I got a real good deal on it because the neck is warped, so "unplayable" by most people. It's so warped the octave, normally at the 12th fret, is half way to the 13th fret. Which makes no difference at all when you're playing slide, I don't use the frets :>
@DFDuck55
@DFDuck55 3 жыл бұрын
The main difference in the sound of a tube amp, like the Marshall, and a solid state transistor amp is the harmonic distortion. The harmonic frequency of a transistor is a high pitch squeal. The harmonic frequency of a tube is more in tune with what note you're playing and is much more pleasing to the ear.

Somehow I've missed this video. Being an Appalachian native myself, as well as a guitar nut since the mid 70s, this us right up my alley. Hey Austin, you said you got your Les Paul mainly because of Neal Schon. Have you ever seen a Schon guitar? He had his own brand. They are kinda like a weirded out les paul. They were made By Jackson guitars in California in the early 80s. Just thought you might be interested if you've never heard of them.

I know this is an old video but Austin you got great taste in Neal Schon. If you haven't checked out the 1980s albums he did with Jan Hammer, they're both worth checking out if you can find it. Untold Passion is an amazing album! P.S. Forget Sandman, next time Austin I want to see you play "Through The Never" 🤘or "Blackened" 😬 I play Ernie Ball super slinky 10 Gauge also and someday I am going to install the Het Set pickups in my Dean Razorback. Mostly Diamond Head and UFO riffs at this point, but you have to start somewhere... Now if only I could afford a decent dang amp...
