Personally mas gusto ko iyan fretwork shape ng Gibson dahil.... mas madaling mag slide up and down the neck. Mga 'hot dog' frets ay mahirap mag slide in the middle of the fretboard (5th to 2nd string) kasi parang dumadaan ka sa 'hump' sa kalye. 4) Frets are glued and will not pop out. So, kung lumabas ang frets ibig sabihin lang niyon nag shrink ang wood. May pros and cons and gluing. 5) One piece ang mahogany nila... well best way to check the claim is check the strap button at the butt angle OR remove the pickups and look at the seam/join sa pickup cavity. Ang hindi niyo alam ay specially grown for Gibson ang mga one piece mahogany bodies nila kasi wala ng 'mahogany' makuha na ganyan ka lapad. Lahat naman ng ibang gitara ay nag cla claim na mahogany but is it the same Mahogany sound ng early 50s and 60s that made the mahogany sound famous? 6) Hindi nawawala sa tono mga Gibson Custom Shop ko sa G string... maaring slot sa paggawa ng nut lang iyan at hindi dahil sa gitara. Also, you can flip the G-string saddle on the bridge with the flat side facing the bridge so you have more allowance to intonate. ABR is preferable to the Nashville bridge because ABR can go lower in action. 7) O.022 micro farad ang value ng caps ng gibson hindi lang plain 0.223 -- model number lang iyon ng capacitor. Sa higher end gibson, dapat paper in oil capacitor. 8) Pag mag test kayo ng clean... dapat fender blackface na tube amp para lumabas ang ganda ni gibson sa clean. Also, yang Gibson Humbucker na iyan hindi PAF model kaya mas pansin ang midrange. Mas chimey ang clean ng PAF. Ang magandang PAF pickups ay tatalunin ang clean ng strat. Mas balanced tumunog mga lumang PAF versus Fender na maganda. 9) Hindi kailangan ng high output na pickup para maganda. In fact, mas maganda nga medium output na pickup dahil dapat ang high gain tube guitar amp magdadala ng distortion at sustain sa drive!!! Pag high output pickup, ibig sabihin, overwound most of the time at ngo ngo ang tunog -- lalo na mga budget pickups kagaya ng naririnig mo sa mga below P20k na gitara na tinetest mo. Mawawalan ka ng highs at pick attack kung sobrang hot ang pickup.
