I just got ripped off for $200 on four $50 Amazon cards that were tampered with. I'd love to find the scumbag that did this and give them a wood fiber shampoo!

These scammers place a sticker on the gift card. So when people put money it goes overseas. Now you might be wondering what is the benefit these scammers get. They in stead sell the gift card information on dark web and some other scammer purchases the card details and hence they are able to do the scam by initiating an overseas transaction.

It's better to just give people money (cash or venmo). Avoid the scams. Gift cards get charged for taxes as well when you buy it.

And then you get taxed again when you redeem the card with a purchase.

Go old school And give a greeting card with cash . Card goes to green bin with the envelope and cash is spent.... its a win win!!

Trust me gift cards are a bad idea. The recipients most likely have no interest in whatever the store is or the restaurant. You don't necessarily have enough to afford what you wish to buy and funds are left over with not enough for another purchase. Unclaimed funds the company will keep. Give cash.

we get SCAM for 1,000 . and to find to talk to somebody in ebay is horrible. The cards dont have a phone N# in the back . Is sad i feel terrible is impossible to fight for my money back I report the scam to FTC
