I like to give people a dozen eggs from my laying hens. Everyone always needs eggs and if I may humbly say, mine are the best. Not only do they taste amazing but I have several breeds of chicken and so have colourful eggs: cream, buff, brown and even blue. They are so pretty to look at and everyone is always so pleased to get them.

I give crochet cotton washclothes and crochet cotton face rounds as gifts. That way I know they'll be used and not just sit around (except for me mom, she thinks they're too beautiful to use and has them for decor). They're also a fast last minute gift idea. I also keep pretty cotton yarn around just for that. I also crochet large earrings for those that love earrings and keep crochet thread and the fishhook earrings to attach to. ❤️

I love gifting little crystal boxes with lids for my friends to put their special daily jewelry or keepsake trinkets in, I was gifted one at a Mardi Gras ball one year by a dear friend and it was so thoughtful of her to give something so dainty and pretty. I treasure it and hope the people I gift them to also love them.

My friend grows lots of herbs and makes tussie mussies as gifts ie small bouquets of herbs with some flowers added. She generally will add a few little roses or lavendar to her kitchen herbs and wraps them in a paper doily with a ribbon. So sweet and inexpensive. They smell beautiful too. I often buy a few cheap roses (flowers are expensive here) and add herbs or Australian natives like wattle or eucalypts from my garden and it looks lovely.

I married into a Japanese American family. The cultural custom of omiyage is still very important despite 150 years away from Japan. Basically, never show up empty handed! There is a half-joke about the orange that visits every house in the neighborhood before it gets eaten. A small box of candies is great for my 99 year old grandmother in law. My mother-in-law loves a jar of frozen homemade soup. A fruit is traditional, but flowers are popular too, of course. Lately we have been printing and framing pictures of our toddler also. P.S. I am on my second week of purchasing TJ peonies!

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers! When I bring a bouquet of peonies inside I’m always reminded of my mother! She always had flowers she would cut from her gardens and our farm house was filled with their fragrance! Such sweet memories....the essence of peonies carry me back to long ago...a time filled with peace, contentment and love!

I just got home from going out to dinner for a friend’s birthday. I bought her white peonies and had the florist wrap them up beautifully. I discovered they are her fave flowers! How cool is that?! Mine too by the way!

I like to give my closest friends flowers from my garden and yard. I am always on the look out for thoes perfect gifts to make others feel loved and encouraged. There is also the gift of time, which cannot be bought,simply given. Beautiful peonies,and great book suggestion. 💐

I have Peonies blooming in my yard along with irises. Little things I like to do is take a small bouquet of flowers from my yard to a new person in the neighborhood or a batch of cookies or bread. I’ll add a jar of homemade jam if I have it. I have a friend who is wheelchair bound so if I see something at the grocery store that she might like I take a picture of it for her. If she says yes then when I bring it to her I put it in a pretty gift bag and ribbon 🎀 rather than an ikky plastic bag. I could actually do more than I do though.

I love gifting the book “Nothing Much Happens” (from the sleep podcast by the same name). It’s such a lovely book with sweet illustrations and wholesome short stories to relax with. Flowers are always lovely to gift. My friend Denise gets me the best gifts: special chocolates, teas, a mug, something scented. She always gets the colors and designs right (we’ve known each other since we were babies!). I find men so much harder to shop for! I always resort back to chocolates or a nice drink.

Hi Nikki, I love to observe and listen well when I interact with people to know what speaks to them, because I love giftgiving. One of the things that will always bring joy is giving someone a beautyful teacup with a very special tea or a cup for coffee with a specialty coffee or if they are into healthy eating some mushroom tea or coffee.I have also given a beautyful decanter with a nice waterglass to my son when started to work on his waterintake. There is so much joy when someone becomes happy with gift.

My go to gift is gourmet coffee, or great smelling cleaning sprays. I love gifting consumables. I also gift plants that are hard to kill such as snake plants of zz plants.

Hi Nikki, The little things are so important. I work with someone who always gives gifts from Bath and Body Works and I'm thinking of doing that more often. I will be visiting a friend that I lost contact with for over forty years so I think I will bring her two items from Bath and Body Works. This video inspired me and flowers from Trader Joe's are always a good idea!

Life is incredibly stressful and busy for most of us. I think it’s ok to give a more generic gift if you simply can’t come up with something more personal. It also depends why you are visiting with a friend. For lunch visits flowers or baked goods are always appropriate. If someone is hosting dinner a bottle of wine is always an appropriate hostess gift.

It sure is stressful and busy, I guess that's why when you find that perfect gift, it's such a different feeling and a little thing I take notice of. I never feel the same about a generic gift as I do about one I know the person will love because I listened to what they enjoy or like and I believe the feeling is mutual.

My friend gave me an offshoot of a rare plant for the garden. I used the pot in which this plant was for a present for her: a particularly beautiful iris from my garden. We are both avid gardeners.

I love to receive a gift that shows a personal touch (showing that the person listened to me ).While I appreciate any gift given to me, the gift that was just bought without much thought (just for the sake of giving something or something that reflected the giver’s taste ), the gift that reflects me, you might say, holds a deeper place in my heart. As a result, I sometimes wait until I find the right gift for my recipient, rather than just give anything . I want to show that I listened to them, or I give something that reminded me of them. Your videos are a gift that you give to us. They provide intimacy, beauty and calmness. Thank you. The movie, MISS POTTER starring Rene Zellweger is charming! I recommend it.

My love language is gift giving. I have not been doing this as much lately, so this is inspiring to me. Sometimes I don't know if it is appropriate, I don't want people to feel they have to return the gift or feel overwhelmed that I am giving too much, if that makes sense. But it does bring me joy and you have a lot of good ideas here.

Amber, I am the same way. I love gift giving. It brings me so much joy, but sometimes I struggle with if they feel obligated to reciprocate, or just as you said, I don’t want them to feel that I’m giving them too much. My closest friends know that’s just who I am and just receive the blessing! Just keep being who you are!

Nikki, your Channel always brings joy to me and especially it is up lifting with all of the crazy things going on in my life right now. I love to give gifts that I have made instead of buying at the Store for my Family and Friends. In my younger days I have made a lot of Counted Cross Stitch Pictures in which I have given to my Children as Heirlooms such as a Graduation Announcements, Wedding Samplers, etc. and to see the smiles on their faces really means so much to me. My mum has color themes for her rooms in her home so I kind of match my presents for her with the colors...for example I get something in lilac for her kitchen. I like to make lists throughout the year. Whenever someone tells me somethig that he or she would like to have I put it on that list. Makes it easier to find a gift.

I want a pen like yours in the intro! Where shall I look? I recently discovered your channel and absolutely love all the things you so elegantly present. I am in the process of changing my wardrobe to dresses. I live in Minnesota where the winters are very cold, but I believe I can find thermal or lined tights. Also slips are new to me. I am plus sized (24 women's with a 53 inch bust) so finding items in my size are a challenge. I love your aprons, but I'm afraid my bust size might be a problem on the top and my waist for the tie. I apologize for the length of this post, but I don't normally comment and soak everything in. Sending love!

Lovely video which inspires me to be more mindful as I go through my days, to be aware of the small things that so enrich the day. Gift-wise, it depends on the person. I gave a dear friend a small orchid three or four years ago and she has managed to keep it alive and blooming (which is quite a feat!). She is a career artist and it suits her so well.

That Beatrix Potter book cover spoke right to me too but when I looked it up to get it shipped to Australia it was over AUS$170, so I am choosing the other one you mentioned. Iris and I were at our local Botanic Garden this morning and we love the Duck Park section. We even saw Jemima Puddleduck. Lovely video and lovely gift choices Niki.

When I’m in conversation with friends; I like to mentally take note of things they say, maybe about their garden whether its flowers or vegetables or both. I find doing this is extremely useful when it comes to Birthdays, Christmas or paying a visit. I the choose a gift that was appropriate for the occasion. It is so lovely to see friends faces light up when the gift they receive really is a wanted gift.

Lovely Nikki May I share something? I travel a lot for work and like to browse local stores and markets all around the world. Purchasing small and unique gifts throughout the year to give to those I care about at birthdays and Christmas. This allows me to be stress free Not buying impersonal mass produced gifts last minute.

Have you always been this put together and feminine? I'm 38 and have 5 kids, I sometimes feel like it's to late for me to ever change, I'm just a grubby, homeschool mom with no motivation for anything :( maybe a tad bit of depression, I had a baby a month ago, so it could be part of that.

It has been a continuous journey my friend. I know what I loved but didn't know exactly how to achieve it all the time. I loved dresses for instance but as a young mom, I wore jeans a lot and those velour outfits (you may recall that trend) and saved dresses for Sunday mornings and gatherings. When I decided to completely take out the grubby clothes, I got rid of them so I wouldn't be tempted to wear them and made sure my choices were only things I loved and felt good in. That's when I realized everything I had around me was my choice. I wanted all those options to be beautiful and paid no mind to what people saw as being odd. To this day, I get comments about how crazy I am for my choices and like I'm trying to be "better" or "holier than thou" but that's okay, I just know what I like and it's my life just as you have yours and you are capable of making it exactly how you want it to be, you just have to have the courage to do it. I love to give little gifts to friends as well, it blesses me to give more than it does to the receiver. I LOVE your alarm clock next to your bed, would you share where you found it? I have been looking for one just like yours with no luck until I spotted it on your night table. My go-to gift is making handmade card set or desk collections ex: personalized notebook and notepads.
