The four lifter per country limit should be abolished. While other sports are super inflated with different distances, team etc. I do think 6-8 lifters per country would be okay.

Rahmat Erwin Abdullah on this 2 years made Incredible Lift especially Clean&Jerk constantly over 200kg as Light 81kg he lift 201 at SEA Games 2023 just Second Attempt and 202 at IWF GrandPrix made me think what Total weight he could push Shi with His Snatch Competition 158kg

I am glad you got the job at the Worlds. Weightlifting is one of those sports that is hugely underpromoted and appreciated. Look at some of our American athletes, for example Mattie Rogers. She has made big sacrifices for a dozen years now. The rewards should be much better and greater for someone like her. She is a weightlifting heroine.

I find it hilarious that WLH is single handedly bestowing the nickname of Giga Chad upon Liu Huan Hua. Like dude is in China oblivious to it all because KZfaq is banned over there and at the next competition, people will be like "Giga Chad!" and he's like "whaaa...?" WLH spoke it into existence! So meta! I gotta update his Wikipedia page to reference his nickname as "Giga Chad" lol

Just signed up to watch the champs, but with misgivings. I hope pressure will mount on the IWF as well as on other governing sports bodies such as the IOC to shun the hospitality of such prettified political dungeons as Saudi Arabia, Chiba, etc. Subjugation of women, Uyghurs, etc, need to not be overlooked by international sport. I wonder if our great female lifters will find themselves insulted or even mistreated in Saudi Arabia. I hope it all goes well for them.
