It's bonkers to not include USB-C front panel support on modern motherboards IMO. Would happily trade that RGB header away for one.

The small fan header is just the one that they use for the active chipset cooler on x570 boards. Given that the board design is quite similar, I think they just left it there. It's probably cheaper to just put an adapter in the box than to redesign this part of the board.

Will this board work with Crucial Ballistic RGB 16gb (2x8GB sticks) 3600 speed and a Ryzen 5 5600x proc? The reason that I am asking is that I've heard BSOD stories an hour or so after boot with the Ryzen 5 3600x. Just wondering if the different proc could make all the difference. Thanks.

@CrazyTechLab Love your observation and suggestion on using thermal pads in between the heatsinks. Question: Would 0.5mm thickness thermal pads do the trick? Or would slightly thicker ones like 1mm or 1.5mm ones be better based on the gap. Thanks!

if im installing an m.2 do you recommend removing the NB/heatsink....or should i just install it on the rear port. Is the only way to get the gen4 pci-e m.2 speed via the slot under said heatsink......granted its probably going to be a gen3 sabrent rocket 2tb.......Im guessing the rear 3.0 is ran off of Chipset.....so if i want coolerchipset temps.....i ought to install it on the 4.0 pci-e slot? OH and purples my favorite color hands down easy sub going to watch that vid too.

Can you connect from Type-c of this motherboard to 3 monitors through MST hub in addition to HDMI x1 and DisplayPort x2? or is this Type C of this motherboard is the one without Alternative mode, which has no video output?

Board is looking really promising, I honestly couldn't find any ITX boards in stock much less a B550 board. B&H managed to let me place an order even though it's not showing any stock. I'm hoping it actually arrives. My Louqe Ghost S1 doesn't have any front I/O so I could care less about a USB C header.

The M2 slot is connected with a heat pipe to the back of the motherboard. Dont you think the cover is designed to shield the heatsink, so the heat wont hit the PCB of the GPU?

The Asus options are just way to expensive for what you get. Asus priced their b550i at $229 and this board from Gigabyte is $179, plus its a trade off as you only get one pcei slot (4.0) on the asus board compared to the 2 slots on the gigabyte board. If I had to put my 3600 cpu in a b550 I would pick the arous for the extra m.2 slot even though its 3.0 u can still pick up a nice intel 660p 1tb for $100 and have great speeds for your games, ect.

Yeah I'm confused by the lack of USB C header in a board release mid 2020. To me, this is a deal breaker for the board because I want to pair it with an H1. Could give two shits about the lack of USB C header, it's still very niche, horses for courses. I guess. I'm building a mini media system in a Node 304, this has everything I need minus two SATA ports, can cover that with bigger HDD's, less heat to pump into the case. Lack of mention for the VRM's, it can take a 3900x no sweat.

I wont buy a new gigabyte board... If got the X570 Aorus and the software is just all garbage. Fan control software does just whatever, sensors showing -1°C sometimes.... Its just not worth it anymore to shell out 200 bucks and get this garbage
