GIK Acoustics: Early / First Reflection Points

If you've spent any time looking for information about treating your space, chances are you've run across the term "early reflection point", "First Reflection Points" or "mirror point". These are just semi-technical terms used to describe a phenomenon common to all enclosed spaces no matter what size: that the direct sound from the loudspeakers will arrive at the listener's ears before the reflected sound does. It reflects not just off of the walls to the left and right, but off the floor, the ceiling and everything in-between.

I genuinely don’t understand the mirror trick. I do this and I feel like I can see the speaker the entire time. At no point do I not see the speaker in the mirror. Someone please help me out here.

Sure spacing the panel from the wall is always a good thing, if you have the space for it. Our panels though have a built in air gap so you can mount them flat to the wall.

Yes you where ever you can see the monitor in the mirror is where the reflection point is. Let me know how it works out for you.

Isnt a bass trap more effective being mounted 4 inches of the wall (if its a 4 inch bass trap)?

I can't see both speakers on one wall. I can only see the left speaker on the right wall and the right speaker on the left wall. This video says that we can see both speakers on one wall if I got it right...

thing is , when im behind my monitors there is nothing there , what reflection ? Only when on high levels i can hear mids and highs behind my setup , but under normal conditions , there is nothing behind the line of my monitors that are positioned the same as on the video, why use bass traps and defusers , i cant here that bass here and there are no mids and highs behind ?

i would liek to hear a difference of placing the defusers behind the monitors , both PC and studio monitors , li will do the test if there is none on YT
