Lucifer is kinda similar, main character (Lucifer) has huuuge daddy issues and struggles with feeling like he's a good person worthy of love and covers it by using drugs, drinking, and having sex with hundreds of people It's a great show with fun characters, and it's even a crime solving show too lol

The Mentalist. The main character is all shades of messed up, and the dynamics, whilst not as paternal as PS are pretty similar.
