It's beautiful but I'm just worried about what i assume is a rat tail tang, to support such a huge blade.

It's a beautiful knife, but I wouldn't do heavy chopping with it. It could handle making feather sticks, slicing food, & hand to hand combat i'm sure. it's tougher than it looks.

From what I can research on the interwebs, these Musso (Old West) style big bowies are pretty much made in China or Pakistan. I saw one from Spain, but they certainly look cool AF! These Gill Hibbins seem to have shiny blades.

The one sold under the name "Musso bowie" is pretty good and def not stainless steel , but the "Old West " version has a crappy SS blade that feels like it weighs a ton, short tang and cheap glue holding the brass back.

Man i just bought this exact knife and the brass hand guard is loose..now it feels like a flea market special...so disappointed.

Really? Is it United Cutlery, Gil Hibben brand? I think it’s a screw on handle so it might be an easy fix.

@@JoeDoomsday Many things are made there for sure, but not every thing. I tend to look around more when I shop, pay more get better quality, even Taiwan or Japan or heck I would take a knife made in Pakistan over China, Spain obviously is a good choice to when it comes to blades but I'm sure I don't have to tell you as you already know, but I would say For the last few years I have seen lots more stuff made here in the U.S. on the shelves, and I hope it stays that way, but if our leadership changes in November, sleepy Joe Biden will be hugging and drinking warm cocoa with China's president, and that will re-start the merry go 'round all over again.

Nomadic Pick And Flip ,... the Svord Von Tempsky Bowie Knife, Hand forged in New Zealand, is a pretty great knife.

cha5 ,... Matt Graham’s Survival/ Bushcraft Knives are often 420. It doesn’t corrode and it’s good Steel. It keeps the price more bearable.

Joe Doomsday Surgical steel may be “good steel” but it’ll also easily break in comparison to 1095 hi carbon steel. I’m sure it’s very nice for a bargain knife but I’d rather have something with more durability to it like my custom Haag Bowie, Sorry, No question it’s a beautiful wall hanger though.

cha5 , ...I hear you. With its Gold plated fittings and 420 SS & a Push tang, it’s meant more as a “presentation piece” (Wall Hanger) than it is, for hard use. It’s still quite solid and absolutely gorgeous.
