The problem with guarding Steph is any lapse in concentration could lead to a 10-point-Steph-run in under a min. And if Steph gets that 10-point Steph run going, the rest of the team gets hot and you have a 20-point avalanche coming. The man has the greatest momentum game in the history of the NBA.

Handles have nothing to do with AI being guarded. Have you not looked at his highest scoring games. Kyrie is not on AI level when it comes to getting buckets. AI was a killer on every play and wasn't looking for a pass. Nobody could stay in front of him. Kyrie is no where near as quick or fast as AI and finish on EVERYONE. Just because you can spin the ball in the backyard, didn't mean he's a better finisher than AI. They never had to deal with Ky a person who watched tht era and AI and evolved his moves and made it his own + more. 3:00 - 3:40 mega factsssss! Kyrie for most of his career had a top #75 player to help spread defences. Lebron, KD, Harden... Now Luka in Dallas... Kyrie has always had significantly better offensive teammates to take pressure and spotlight off of him. The game now also is more 3pt oriented, which also contributes to diluting defensive intensity in the mid range and paint where AI was cooking. Furthermore, AI was straight up running at the Shaq's, TD's, KG's, Dikembe's, Mournings in the paint, as well as being hunted by the Kobe's, GP's, Stockton's at the half court, with double teams in between... He faced far more intense defenders. People saying Kyrie is disrespected here truly don't understand the magnitide of what I just mentioned above. Gil and K-Mart know that AI was just a different beast. Also, considering the fact that AI is 5'11 with the same amount of scoring titles as KD makes it all the more insane how gifted he was.

Someone could say kyrie not having that green light because he of those teammates hurts him in this argument cause if he didn't have to share the ball with Bron k'd and now Luka he could drop 50 in his sleep even with the focus on him. 1 difference between him and Ai is the 3 point shot. He can break down a defense by himself cause you can't clog the paint. He'll drain 3s all day if you give him those shots. A double isn't effective either, we've all seen what he did to that team usa team. He's gonna get his buckets regardless 🤷🏾‍♂️
