A rim protector is someone who literally keeps the ball from going in the rim while you're down there consistently. Why is that so hard to understand especially if you played in the NBA

A large part of rim protection is causing offensive players to be afraid to challenge you so you keep them out of the paint in the first place. Nobody but Wemby is getting four blocks a game so the most important thing isn’t the actual shot blocking but the intimidation factor and the only teams name that actually had two of those was Milwaukee and Minnesota. Like Kenyon was trying to say, there are only a few teams that even come close to what the NBA used to be like with the big down low intimidating people.

It use to be trash but it's popping right now and if you had some serious money investing in Sacramento would be a good investment cause lots of people from the Bay Area are moving out here. Research Sacramento. Sacramento metro is 2.4 million & growing.

To me, a “Rim Protector” is a player who: A) disrupts more close shots than are made on him or B) shot contesting and blocking is their best atribute

@@Insight-Nobodyy’all just act like Dallas doesn’t play defense. They were a top 10 defense after the trade deadline and they had the number one defense in the last 20 games of the season. There defense is probably the main reason why they got to the finals. They were one of the best defenses in the playoffs especially with how kidd was a able to set up a team scheme to stop stars on the other team.

@@abtocool6350 Mavs defense looks great one game and non-existent another. They are too inconsistent to be treated as one of best NBA defenses. Example: Couldn’t do a thing defensively against the Celtics, but locked down the Timberwolves. If the Mavs don’t have a good offensive night, they can’t trust their defense to pick up the slack, and will more than likely lose the game. Inconsistency on defense is absolutely an issue for the Mavs no matter what stats you throw out
