And averages near 40/50/90 for the last half decade, despite what others may tell you based on "feelings". Rashad got Gil for the first time and it lit Gil ON FIRE🤣🤣
@Selorm2842 ай бұрын
I LOVE this show…I think what Rashad is saying is that you can’t say to trap Luka “no matter what” (regardless) because if you trap Luka no matter what then Dallas would send a guard to set the pick and when you trap Luka (because you’re saying to trap him no matter what) the guard who set the pick gets the ball and can now make a play. Gilbert’s point is that, well I would switch and not trap him leaving Luka to go one on one with a guard which was his original match up. But to Rashad’s point, Gil, you’re now saying not to trap him no matter what. So you can’t say you would be dumb to not trap him no matter what, because clearly if you send a guard to set the pick then you wouldn’t trap Luka. He gave you a scenario where the “no matter what” has to change.

@@3FederalCamgodBoston ain’t gonna double him. They beat Dallas back to back for 2 years now, they don’t give a f about that 😂. The scheme of Dallas is creating a pick and roll with a big to have the center who switch on a island with Luka. Boston have always been comfortable with Luka doing his thing but will give a hard time to the rest of the squad.
@googlee88822 ай бұрын
Rashad definitely won the whole argument of the pick and roll with Luka. Because the premise of his argument was solely based on the statement that "If Luka gets in a pick and roll, trap it". He was saying, if they're going to 100% trap everything no matter who runs the pick and roll, then run a guard to guard pick and roll, that way you'll have a better play maker rolling to make a decision. Now while it is a hypothetical its definitely not a fantasy, because a guard to guard is a basketball play and a game adjustment to the statement "regardless, trap it". Then Gil got ridiculous and went to overexaggerating. Sarcastically saying "they can run a pick and roll with the coach." So the idea of running a pick and roll with Jones Jr is comparable to the ridiculousness of running it with a coach? Stop. And McCants wasnt saying that its 100% guaranteed to work, he was saying HE himself believes it'll work. And if youre saying he doesnt have the stats to prove that then sure, but its an adjustment for a hypothetical in a series that hasnt occured yet so neither stat is there for this specific series. McCants won this debate easily.

Unlike what Gil said Dallas did Luka/Kyrie PnR to get White switched onto him. It is a part of their playbook. So even if only the Boston guards and forwards are switching and the big man is trapping, Luka can exploit that game plan as he likes. He will just use guard to guard screens to get the matchup he wants and avoid the trap. This isn’t the same Dallas team from the regular season either. They are looking like a well oiled machine. Macants was trippin the entire episode especially with that TMac debate but he was definitely correct about the Mavs take. Gil started off saying one thing and completely switch mid debate. He said they should trap no matter what and then argue Rashad down saying why would Boston trap guard to guard 😂😂😂

Mac is my favorite player all time and even I say he was trippin heavy 💯
@NochillGil02 ай бұрын
no matter what (they only do pick and roll with lively and gafford) so my no matter what is how dallas plays offense......1/5 pick and roll....Rashad said okay so he will do a guard to guard pick an roll "dallas doesnt do that" so okay if dallas magically does guard to guard then dont double just switch! now what! so he took it from reality 1/5 pick and roll and made and Pg/SG ppl but wanna keep me to the same defense...when the scenario has changed so if that happens (double) but now he doesnt want to go from there he wants to keep playing in his fake version becuz if its a switch guard to guard he doesnt know what to do hence why they dont do that and do 1/5 so the big switches onto luka 🤦🏾♂️ u cant beat the facts with something that wont and hasn't happened

Yeah Gil lost that Greatness argument badly. You don’t NEED to have longevity to prove your greatness as one of the best ever. Marlon Brando is considered one of the best actors ever and lived a short career. Biggie is considered one of the best rappers ever and lived a short career. Same with Tupac, Eddie Guerrero and the list could go on. Circumstances and unfortunate events happen. That doesn’t mean that person is any less great or that they HAVE to have longer careers to “prove their greatness”. Dead wrong on that one
