Natapos na ang unang window ng FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers para sa new-look Gilas Pilipinas.
Maraming bago, especially sa opensa nila. So today, tutulungan ko kayo na malaman kung ano ba yung mga tinatakbo ng Gilas Pilipinas ngayon sa opensa nila.

The triangle offense is 🤯🤯🤯 After your explanation, I now understand why it's more fun watching CTC Gilas games. Being a system, it gives players more autonomy to react and decide. There's flexibility and reassurance that even if you miss the designed play, there will always be options after as long as everyone moves in the court. Being a coop videogame junkie, this really makes me happy! 😁 And this system matches the personality of our Gilas players today PERFECTLY-- cerebral, humble, versatile, hustle-driven. ❤ IDC if we don't beat the basketball titans but this is how i wanna see our team rep us in the global stage 😊

Kapag nakinig ka ng mga player interviews from Shaq/Kobe Lakers or Jordan Bulls, sobrang kabisado nila yung triangle na minsan sila na mismo ang nag dedecide ng wrinkles sa opensa. Tapos dahil lahat may opportunity to score or kahit mahawakan lang yung bola, mas masipag sila bumaba sa depensa.

@@impatientgamer6087malaking factor den kasi na 1st world country ang japan, dati kasi di pa nila prioritize ang basketball kaya kahit 1st world, tinatalo natin, pero nung nakapag produce sila ng NBA caliber player (Hachimura, Watanabe) I think nakitaan nila ng potential na mag compete sa world stage at iprioritize ang basketball

Two months ago on the Let it Fly Podcast, Coach Tim Cone mentioned that Ginebra is running the 'pure' triangle offense rather than a modified version. I expect he'll employ the same system with Gilas.

it's so satisfying to see them move the ball around. Skeptics say na "mahina lang kasi kalaban kaya nagka ganyan" (even when coach tim said otherwise), but you just can't deny that they're definitely playing better as a team compared to the previous coach.

Ball movement and learning the system, great job CTC.. reminds me of Phil Jackson and Tex Winter coaching the Bulls and Lakers and kasama na lahat ng teams ni CTC sa PBA..wala na yung ineffective dribble drive offense and learning experience / excuses..lahat ng players ngayon ganado to play for our national team..nice vid and analysis

maganda naman dribble drive offense sir, sadyang di lang na emphasize ng maayos ni Chot, tapos mga players nya di bagay sa DDO. KAhit sa NCAA sa US DDO is one of the offense ginagamit lalo na pag naka 5-out ka. Sadyang ginagamit lang ni chot na gnyan offense nya pero di nya natutunan sa mga one of the best to use that offense like John Calipari ng kentucky na natutunan nya lang din sa gumawa na si COach Vance Walberg.

triangle offense is a reaction to the defense that your opponent have.. gilas did it well. it reflected on kai stats in last two games that they had. they're more relaxed when inbounding the ball, know what to do and act on every possession. they are physically and mentally ready for this one. they have jelling, chemistry, no one man team at all. everyone touches the ball. the coaching staff is deep and experienced when it comes to national stage. that's why euro countries want to have tune up games with us and it's a big boost for our gilas specially we're only just building a new 4 year line up man for our national team. hoping this kind of content will evolve us our gilas hit the hardwood. this is one very special sample of "sport science". keep it up bro

Great video! One thing na napansin ko is yung triangle system sometimes transition to a motion system, mejo free flowing and allows player creativity pag hindi nila nakuha yung 1st or 2nd option. Similar to how GSW or Kings plays, less outside shots nga lang on the Gilas system. Scary to think na nasa early stage pa lang ng development, sana magtuloy tuloy.

Mas maraming tools si Coach Tim ngayon kesa nung hawak nya ang national team nung 1998. Saka iba na evolution ng mga players ngayon kahit masasabi natin na magagaling din naman ang mga PBA legends noon. Kahit malalaki kasi nagbababa na ng bola ngayon di katulad dati na laging assisted ni Johnny A yung buong team para ibaba yung bola.

Dati naguguluhan ako sa triangle noong pinapanood ko ang bulls at alaska. Yung fiets action lang ng side triangle naiintindihan ko. Sa tingin ko hindi pang beginner ang triangle e. Noong naintinduhan ko na basics nang ibang offense like pick n rolls, yung mga screens, etc..doon ko na lang naintindihan amg mga options nito. It's a combination of everything. But i'd also like to see 1 or 2 different plays from gilas aside from the triangle and the usal zonebuster. Pampagulat lang pa minsan minsan.hehe

Saw a gilas game few months back. Sometimes binabago ni coach tim yung pace one game puro quick high pick and roll sometimes spain pick and roll or sometimes early drag lang pinagawa nya at the start of the second half threw the defense off.

Par bakits, alam ko na topic mo na to pero seguro talaga ayaw ng iba sa triangle kasi sa subrang fundamental nya boring talaga tignan. Pabor nga yan kay Kai, parang kay Luc Longley noong Bulls era, kahit hindi domintating na center kaya maka score at assist. Kaya mahalaga yung shooter din sa triangle kasi marming oppurtunity na ma open...kahit ndi magaling ang player gaya ni Toni Kukoc nagiging deadly dahil sa shooting lalo pag nagka space dahil sa triangle.

Sarap ng ikot ng bola nila previous 2 games, almost walang iso 1v1 plays. Medyo undersized mga nakalaban nila pero mas okay utilization ng post game ngayon, Tas 100pts per game is quite high sa fiba games.

Not being a naysayer but those teams were weak and small. Hk always has been easy work for us. Then that was the taiwan B team at best. Very small and no imports. We will see how they hold up against a bigger NZ team. Ball movement is indeed better tho vs sa outdated na dribble drive ni chot
