Even if you don't agree with Gil you must admit he's funny😂. I will say Gil's explanation of eras is well thought out and the tweener slot has to exist because it's correct.

Cannabis ain't either because the residue from the smoke settles on your brain causing spots to appear. That smoke has chemicals in it that effects cannabinoids in your brains and replaces it with the cannabis in the weed. It also messes with other functions of the brain that I won't get into. Bottom line is, your brain is just another organ and just like substances effect your other organs it does your brain also. But hey, you only live once.

If you ever played basketball you would know it’s much harder going against a zone than man to man defense. You must be able to shoot and space the floor. You would also know it’s tougher playing defense against someone that can shoot because you have to guard further out. The game seems easier now but it seems that way because EVERYONE can make shots from everywhere. There is way more talent on every team in this era. Teams from the past would get smoked in today’s game. The older eras won’t admit it and the analysts of today never played basketball.

Facts it wouldn't be close. I did a discovery today on the 1991-92 championship blazers team in comparison to Gilbert arenas 2005-06 wizards and looked at the stats....the 06 wizards would annihilate that team lmao 🤣 😂 I mean just look at the averages for the 3 best players on each team. Let's start with the blazers Clyde drextler shot 40.7% FG, 15% from 3 and 89.3% from the ft line averaging 24.8 ppg, 7.8 trb, 5.3 ast, 1.3 stls & 1.0 blks. Terry porter shot 47.1% FG, 23.1% from 3 & 82.3% from the ft line averaging 16.2 ppg, 4.3 trb, 4.7 ast, 1.0 stls & 0.3 blks. Jerome kersey shot 48.1% FG, 00.0 from 3, 73.3% from the ft line averaging 14.8 ppg, 8.7 trb, 3.3 ast, 1.8 stls & 0.2 blks. Now let's do the wizards. Gilbert arenas shot 46.4% FG, 43.5% from 3 & 77.1% from the ft line averaging 34.0 ppg, 5.5 trb, 5.3 ast, 2.2 stls & 0.7 blks. Antoine Jamison shot 42.2% FG, 31.1% from 3 & 77.8% from the ft line averaging 19.2 ppg, 7.2 trb, 3.0 ast, 1.0 stls & 0.3 blks. Caron butler shot 41.6% FG, 21.4% from 3 & 82.8 from the ft line averaging 18.5 ppg, 10.5 trb, 2.7 ast, 2.0 stls & 0.2 blks. Lol 😂😆 that wizards team would demolish that "championship" blazers team. 🤣

The NBA changed the rules of the game in the mid 2000's precisely to enable more scoring! This was the explicit intent. Players today are also allowed to carry the ball, palm the ball and get away with traveling. Of course they are going to look more impressive if they are allowed to do things players of the past were not allowed to do. BTW, Team USA just got smoked by international teams. If this era of players are so much better, who do players like LeBron, Durant and Steph have to put on their capes and come to the rescue? Those players were each drafted to the league over 15 years ago! Also, players today practice more threes because of how the game is played. They didn't just magically become better from three. The emphasis on three point shooting is less than 10 years old. It was never a huge part of the game before then. That's why the older generation of players didn't attempt as many as players do today.

They added the flagrant foul to the rules because the hard fouls and fights from the 80's started to turn some fans off. Pat Riley was trying to follow the Detroit Pistons blueprint with his Knick teams and Heat teams but the rule changes did not work in his favor because players started getting superstar foul calls and some cheap flagrant foul calls. When you look back at the 90's the Knicks were in every story line and they had three rivals.

Gil needs someone that actually understands the game beyond the surface through the different eras to debate against. Even on Gils Arena, they all just get emotional and start trying to just be right, missing the obvious holes in Gils logic. And for the record, most of the time I agree with Gil's points. I'm just saying, he wins most of the debates because people debate him with surface knowledge. I've yet to see anyone debate him with depth. Personally, I don't have one being better than the other since I don't operate in black and white. They are just what they are, but it would be good to see a good debate with depth on the differences between the eras.

What would we do without Gil? Cooking these casuals. I get tired of trying to explain to them. Now I'll just point them to the podcast lol Thanks for shutting down the hand checking myth.

Stockton and hornacek were good three point shooters. And as a team, Utah shot high 30 percent from 3s. That was an off series against the bulls in the finals because the bulls were good at closing out on 3s and recovery defense.

If it's true the zone was put in to slow down Shaq, then it's no debate that Wilt and Shaq are the most dominant ever. Zone is 1 rule to slow Shaq down. The NBA had 5+ rules to slow down Wilt

Oscar robertson was one on one bro. So was tiny archibal. Jerry West went at guys one on one as well as Elgin baylor. Jordan just did it at another level. Get your history right. You supposed to be the expert and you 2 years older than me. It's nice to entertain, but also get the ish right.

1:35:18 Look at Curry's highlights during his first MVP season. It was so strange seeing him make a bunch of walk up threes. They wouldn't dare guard him like that today😂they learned their lesson.
