I listen to dreamers pro often, but I skip all of his episodes about LeBron because they are extremely biased, mostly negative, not hateful but very repetitive but when your favorite three players are Michael Jordan, Kobe, Bryant, and Kawhi Leonard it doesn’t surprise me that everything Bron does you pick a part with a fine tooth comb.

I think Charles took offense to Gil saying that Hakeem was scamming dudes to teach them moves that they won't use. It did come off as disrespectful to Hakeem but when he put it in context i understood exactly what he was trying to convey. You have to have footwork to pull off the moves Hakeem did and most of the notable players he trained had trash foot work..that's why it never looked the same when they did it. Even back when Dwight trained with him, I had said that its a waste of time because Dwight doesn't have good feet on the low block nor can he shoot. I thought Dwight would be better off modeling his offense after someone like Moses Malone. The stuff Hakeem did can't be duplicated. LeBron tried it and never used it because he doesn't have the best feet neither. Also to say nobody uses the shots Hakeem scored with, I would say nobody can use it because again, their feet doesn't set them up. The game today lacks players that have a good middle game. Using a million dribbles just to shoot a step back 3 because you cant get separation going forward is not pleasant to watch and is horrible fundamentals. Though i may not agree with some of Gil's takes, it would be foolish to totally disregard him. The man could do anything with the ball. Inside, outside,.. however you wanted it.. he knows the technical aspects of the game... looking back i don't think he had any offensive flaws...

Gil on his 3 week straight of sh-tn on Hakeem. Its starting to get weird. At what point do you stop hating on Old Heads (first it was 80s now its the 90s) to pander to the new generation. Its almost like he doesnt realize he's a old head also. All his Jordan takes are just like this as well. The new generation will accept you without you blatantly pandering to them. You act like you didnt come in the league in 2001. Your a product of the 90s lmao. You mainly played against 90s players for the first half of your career lmao

@@uncleiroh7967 I’m not a old head but it just becomes corny after awhile. The game of basketball is a evolution so each generation is going to become more skilled but shitting on Hakeem for 3 weeks while he doesn’t respond seems like corny attention seeking behavior. On to the point about him playing against 90s players. Just making sure I understand… you think he only played against those players? The league was older in general. Any 10 year vet in 2005 was a 90s player. Any 5 year vets in 2001 when he was drafted was a 90s player. Should o list off rosters to prove the point? 😂😂😂 You’d wrong it cool 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

At 1st to the dreamers show I thought he made valid points. No I have to listen to you I have a different perspective. He has not done his homework And from this point forward I will follow what you have to say About basketball before I follow what he has to say because like you said. You have more experience and a reason why you're saying the things you are saying. I still support The dreamer show But We gotta give a credit what credit is due. Gilbert killed it. Former players like yourself think because you have a podcast, that you're right on everything you say. I watch him and you Gill. His show ain't bad, he makes good points and has some good takes. Gill i think your argument in defenders is flawed. On one how you talk about how special and unique your game was. Having so many achievements by 25 that it took yrs to be broken and then say because they couldn't stop you that they were trash defenders. That's not at all true, it's just a case where Good defense is met with better offense. It happens, especially as the league was continually moving towards more offense under David Stern to put a more exciting product on the floor. I have seen Kobe get cooked by others but they were also exceptional players like T-Mac. Kobe always tried hard but always wasn't successful. You said many good defenders were trash so who to you was a good or great defender? Show topic maybe? Gill's list of best wing defenders.

You made a lot of great points, Gil. However, the part about scoring over Kobe needs more context as well. During the TIME you played those games you mentioned against Kobe, you averaged around 42% from the field and 35% from 3, but for those specific games you said you averaged 32 against Kobe, you shot under 40% from the field and under 30% from 3. Therefore, it means you were very well defended by Kobe, making you average much less than what you normally did, especially from 3. You got high point totals because of volume and shooting free throws. Oh, and that 37 point game after the 60 point one, you shot 31% (9/19) from the field and 20% (3/15) from 3. You tell me if that's not good defense.

@@lenoe234 Gil said what he said, talk to Gil. He said Kobe guarded him because he was the scorer on the team and he still "cooked" him. Fact of the matter is, with context, he actually struggled. I have forgotten who the player was, it was not that recent (I think D Howard or Lebron early years). But I’ll never forget the TNT crew discussing the person needing to develop a post game, and someone, I think Kenny said “The Dream” can train him. Charles Barkley then said something very profound, “Don’t go to Olajuwon, what he does cannot be taught. It’s too unnatural. Work with a Mchale or…” that’s not a direct quote. But what he was saying made sense. You can’t learn The Dream Shake with two left feet. You have to be very gifted and have a solid foundation. It’s not impossible, but you would need to be putting in lots of work outside the class to finally be able to implement the moves. And it would still most likely take a long time. Possibly a full season or more. That can interfere with actual production, what already works, and affect contracts and money.
