Gildedguy in the first fight: a golden knight with a magic sword vs a dragon towering above them, a perfect fantasy battle of ages Gildedguy 4 months later: *gundam*

I always kinda saw Gildedguy as the ''Spider-Man'' character of the Stickman community. The fact he has a heart of gold and always tries to save other people, even despite the fact that those same people are trying to hurt or even kill him. I kinda see him fitting really well into the ''Indomitable human spirit'' trope, as his spirit and determination is unbreakable. His traits are displayed amazingly here, as even though he was stuck in a dragon for 4 LITERAL MONTHS, he managed to pull through. Not only that but the dude made a whole ass MECH inside of Mar. If that's not determination I don't know what is. There are alot of things I like about this animation. First has to be the stunning quality of it. Literally rewatched the last fight scenes a couple of times in slow-mo to look at the amazing details. I also enjoyed seeing all of the character's personality traits be shown without a single line of dialogue. For example, when Gildedguy and Mar are about to face each other head on, Mar seems to stay calm and collected. Gildedguy on the other hand is hyping himself up, doing cool poses and hopping in place. Something that's also cool is noticing how utterly skilled Gilded is at using his sword. With a weapon like that, actively trying NOT to kill someone would definitely be a challenge. But the way he handles it so perfectly so it cuts Mar from the dragon instead of cutting Mar himself is really damn satisfying to watch I almost forgot to mention the GildedMech. That thing was extremely unexpected, to the point where I paused the video for a couple of seconds to laugh at the sudden absurdity, yet coolness of it. Him cutting the dragon's head off was fucking metal as shit. Another thing that is worth noting is the tragic character of Mar. Now if you read the blogpost about this animation, you'd know that Mar's creator did some bad things. You'd also know that Gilded intended this animation to be a type of message to Mar's creator after he dissappeared. Watching how Mar behaves towards Gilded in this animation makes this pretty damn clear. Each time Gilded tries to help Mar, Mar pushes him away. Falling deeper and deeper into the despair and guilt of being a genocidal dragon. Even when given a hand, he is reminded of his sins and quite literally falls back to his old habits. In his final moments, maybe he accepted to help, but it was too late, as the sins of his past have caught up to him and a sword is driven through his heart. Quite a tragic end. It's pretty much confirmed that he's dead, with the whole weird thing sucking him into the ground and all. I now understand that the way our two titular characters behave (Gilded and Mar) is most definitely a parallel to what happened in real life with Michael and Barthimo1 (Mar's creator). What's also representative of this fact is that when first introduced, Mar seems to be a pretty chill guy. Offering Gilded hospitality and what not. But eventually his true colors came to light, showing that even seemingly good people are capable of doing the most horrible things. Still, life moves on. And so does Gilded. I can't help but wonder what's next for our golden guy, as he not only reached the star that he has been searching for the whole series, but also got a literal castle and total approval of his city. Who could Gilded face next? And what is left for him? I guess that's for us to wait and see. The animation is full of hidden messages and metaphors, alot of which I still don't understand myself. Nevertheless, this animation is easily Gilded's best one yet. Surpassing even Bog and Oxob, which is an immense task. Now we can only hope it overtakes them in views, as this really deserves more attention. Amazing job Gildedguy, I've been watching since Slush Invaders and have always been amazed by your storytelling and animation skills. Here's to the next animation (whenever it comes out) being even better then this one.

it's really cool how Gildedguy ended up fulfilling his desires by following his heart instead of succumbing to the thoughts of what he initially thought would make him happy in Story #5 (Green-Eyed Cowboy). 1. he got himself a partner (i would think) 2. he attained a massive following 3. had _quite_ the epic battle 4. obtained the riches he needed for his guild hall and he did all of this without losing sight of who he is at heart.

Something cool I noticed is that Gildedguy learns from his fights. Let's consider story 1 to be his baseline knowledge. He learns how to fight with his fists in Story 2, uses that to beat Bog after his special spinning technique with his sword in story 4, the same technique against Oxob where he learns to use electricity in Story 6, which he uses against Andre in story 7. He flies with the sword at 24:27 like at the end of Story 7.

If for whatever reason, I became a show runner in the future, I would hire this man on the spot. The level of talent is genuinely jaw dropping. The storytelling is fantastic, the animation is awe inspiring and the music is incredible. I wish I had even half the talent and passion that Guildedguy and his team have. Are we just gonna ignore the fact that Mar was just being a real gracious host for the first five minutes since Goldie met him?

The mech fight and the bridge fight are deservedly getting a lot of praise, but I also want to praise the dragon transformation scene and the dragon fire scene. The stark red-black contrast as Mar metamorphizes shape-by-shape into the dragon is such a cool new visual. Making Gildedguy resistant (but not invulnerable) to the dragon fire was an inspired choice - I've never seen a character make their stand _inside_ the dragon fire! The entire sequence, from Gildedguy's vision of his deepest insecurity, to his walking into the dragon's maw, to his descent into darkest despair in the dragon's throat, is visually stunning, super creative, and perfectly complemented by the song's climax

I'd like to officially announce that I'm now gonna try animation and drawing. I got a tablet just now and I downloaded krita. Mark my words I will do my best to join the ranks of hyun's dojo, because even now as an almost 22 year old man in college these animations STILL make my heart beat in a way like it did when I first watched the og animations. The Character Development of Gildedguy is just Marvelous, he went from someone in debt, travelling, and at one point asking for money, but then due to his cleverness, and creativity, he escaped dangerous situations, and got recognition from everyone due to those attributes.

Gildedguy, not only survived being swallowed by a dragon for four months but also built a mech in said four month, this man continues to prove he’s beyond a legend

Rush Garcia and PowerMeep did a fantastic job! There are a lot of scenes that IMO are hard-carried by the score in the best way possible. - GG landing in the crater 2:32: the score reminds us of how glad we are to see our little hero. I love its continuation of Meditation - Gildedguy's recap of his journey at 4:13: the score's endearing, whimsical, cute, and energetic. Really helps us like Gildedguy as a character even more than we already do - Mar's study at 5:03: wondrous and intriguing, it really makes you want to know more about the tower! - Of course, the drawing scene in the depths of the dragon's belly at 19:38. In particular, there are several moments where the score manages to effortlessly reconcile/transition between conflicting emotions in ways I didn't expect to work so well. - The dragon devouring the town at 0:21: devastation and sadness, but coupled with a sense of majesty and grandeur - Mar's anguish at 1:20: a very delicate balance of serene realization and pain - The green eyes at 19:17: the transition between blackest despair and profound hope is beautiful. I love that how deeply serene the melody is. Maybe the best moment for the original score in any GG story - The transition from dismay at Mar's banishment/death to celebration at Gildedguy's victory at 27:21. Honestly, I think the mood shifts too fast and too abruptly, but the score does a fantastic job of smoothing over this transition I also love the small little musical cues telegraphing the motion: - The frisky piano as GG falls out of the sky at 2:17 is a very nice, playful touch - The rapid thudding on the door at 3:51 makes a funny moment that much funnier - Gildedguy searching the skies with his pen at 7:02: the tiny sequence is very effective at communicating "searching"

Very, VERY insane speculation... but Gildedguy's final fight might be against Yupia. So for those of you who are not aware, Yupia is a robotic, female-identifying sword-wielding fighter of the RHG list created by X-Treme (or X for short). Yupia is insanely strong, durable, and fast for her skillset as an android, but the most interesting part about her is her personality. She HATES humanity to a huge extent. She's merciless towards her targets and rarely ever forges alliances with other fighters in Cier. Her most notable ally has been Bog. Yes, BOG. The same Bog that Gildedguy fought in Story #4. We've seen Yupia make a cameo in Story #2 (oddly enough), but we don't really see her anymore at this point. But here's what I've noticed. Things took a very interesting turn the moment Gildedguy survived the fight against Bog in Story #4, starting with Story #7. Ever wondered why Andre was nowhere to be found when he fell in the middle of Aegis Arena? Check the couple of frames at the moment of impact. There was a pink glow at the center, just smothered by the smoke. And we see a very similar instance here. Once Mar got stabbed, he got sucked by a pink/purple rift, and we even see bits of binary floating around, which heavily implies Yupia's involvement. But that's the interesting part. What for? Why Andre and Mar? And when did Yupia even decide on doing this? Did Bog spill the tea for her? But the real thing is, Gildedguy's final fight being against Yupia makes a whole lot of sense. Yupia really, REALLY hates humanity for its flaws. She's driven by her hate which leads her to assassinate Cier's combatants without any remorse. She'll do ANYTHING to gain the upper hand (she once let Bog take control of her body frame). In fact, there's even a whole video of Yupia by X in which she exterminates the human race. One of her mottos are "ERASE HUMANITY". And that makes her the perfect antagonist for someone like Gildedguy. We've seen how Gildedguy acts towards most, if not all of those he encounters. He always tries to help, even if he's flawed himself. GG gave the last cupcake to Jade after beating her. He then valued Penny's assistance and Lilian's presence. He helped Oxob literally fight through the pain. He and Arzon strived to save Andre from the sky. And even after all this time, he STILL chose to save Mar and give him so many chances. He's the antithesis to Yupia's ideologies. If Yupia wants to ERASE humanity, she would have to deal with Gildedguy, the fighter who does nothing but EMBRACE humanity.

Knowing the tragedy behind Mar's creator, some of the parts of this story, up to the aftermath of the city fight, feels like a sly but respectful depiction while also progressing Gildedguy's story. Very well done once again, now we get to see our armoured lad become a true hero, standing past his old materialistic values, and trying to look for the good in others.

I don't know if anybody else caught this detail, but I think the little red girl that the dragon eats is supposed to be a stand-in for the victim of Mar's creator. For those who don't know, the creator of Mar was caught grooming a kid, and just about all of his media was erased from Hyun's Dojo and banned forever. Despite this, I'm glad Gilded Guy gave Mar a just ending while subtly telling the creator's crime through the story. This video is a perfect example of separating the art from the pedo. Let me know if anyone else caught this detail.

Í like how it shows that mar, although at first seemed to be a good person, turned out to be a monster on the inside, he built a tower with his power but his riches were hidden and his life lonely and isolated. Guildedguy won because he kept his humility and used his talents for others more than he did for himself. In the end guildedguy didn't build just a tower, but a whole castle and got to improve everyones lives in the town that now looks like it's covered in gold.

Did you notice that gildedguy technically fulfilled his dream? Unlike what happened with the green-eyed cowboy who was only gildedguy with greed, it is seen that here he fulfilled his dream without greed, but by being the one trying to help others until the end, even having the armor with which he imagined himself when he obtained the magic painting next to the pile of gold, the castle ...... And apparently a girlfriend, call me crazy, but if gildedguy's father saw it, he'd be proud

Gildedguy went so hard in this, from the sheer badassery of making dragonscale to tank the flames, to docking his mech with Mar's dragon, then using his pen to create a compound pulley was top notch. Gildedguy's craftiness in combat is what makes him truly shine as a fighter and warrior.

One of the things that really gets me with this whole animation isn't just how amazing the story and animation is, but the underlying nature behind the story. Gildedguy mentioned he wanted this to be a message to Mar's creator after he disappeared. From the October post, it can be reasonably inferred that Gildedguy looked up to him in some capacity prior to the incident, being a mod in the community Gildedguy was part of and even assisting in the Gildedguy vs. Oxob animation. This idea of said creator's disappearance and tacit guilt in the controversy gives the animation a feeling of frustration and being betrayed coming from Gildedguy(creator), as Gildedguy(character) tries multiple times to assist Mar, but is rebuked every time. And by the time the fight's over, it's too late; Gildedguy doesn't know how to approach Mar, Mar is resigned to whatever fate awaits him, and the community around them gives their final verdict.

Gildedmech's cape is made from intestines, you can SEE the fucking veins so clearly when he first uses it against Dracomar's dragon breath. Hot damn.

I thought something in this story that was really cool was the expressions. One of them was in the scene where gildedguy beats mar but then mar proceeds to go back to the dragon and it looks almost like Gildedguy says NOOOOO. And when the music with the guitar screeches the loudest exactly at 22 minutes and 30 seconds and if you pause at the right moment or you don't have to you can see mar making a battle cry face when the guitar screeches on the beat of the music which I thought was pretty cool.

It’s really fun how Gildedguy ended (currently.) his story in a typical trope of a knight slaying a dragon and became a king (i know he isn’t a king instead a coconut-head of his guild.) But i also loved how he proved to himself that he can build his own legacy just like what is shown in Story 0 where he got tired of everything being given to him and instead set out on a journey of his own, now that wandering creative artistic knight slain the marred dragon he finally got that legacy he owns.

Answering of a bit of some common questions I see in the comments: Is this the last part of the series?: No, it is at least going to be 10 stories, although some have rumored 15 stories although not sure about that. He's also gonna be fighting Yupia Is Mar a male or female: It's a male. Is GG gonna get a love interest/GF?: He already did, it's the blue stickman with the bow. Her name's Violet and the creator of Violet is married to Gilded in real life. Why did Mar have to die at the end? It's kinda sad: Well yes, but I mean it's respectful in a way. Mar's creator did questionable stuff which caused him to get banned at the Dojo community (like bad bad stuff), so Mar's character living would be... y'know.

Words cannot express how awesome every minute of this animation is. These animations are among the few things I could watch a hundred times each and not get tired of.

What I love about Gildedguy is that he isn't stupid OP like other characters. He is a well-balanced character who faces tough opponents but also faces mental struggles, such as greed, envy, and emptiness. He is a wild, ambitious, battle-hardened, and crafty fighter (he is an artist, after all). He even created a whole mech inside a dragon lol. The stretchy sword has to be the most stunning weapon I've ever seen. It's so simple, yet it's so cool, with its long-range attacks, the combos, and the sword gliding. Congrats to Gildedguy and the team for this beautiful masterpiece. Side Note: I hope "Mar" has realized his mistakes and is trying to be a better person now... hopefully T-T

So beautiful. Gilded Guy's growth is one of the best stories being told, and I'm grateful to experience it over the years. Thanks again to you and your time for sharing your creativity and effort, even though you aren't under any obligation to. Also, I LOVE the clear non-verbal storytelling throughout--it leaves a strong impression, is technically open-ended and invites theories, and makes it so that these animations surpass cultural and language barriers all at once.

So many places my mind races to for things to say about this masterpiece. Animation, score, visuals, the attention to detail, the music. It’s all so impactful in the most emotional way and it doesn’t lose it in the slightest for me on rewatch. If I could wish upon that green star, I’d want your legacy to never be forgotten and for the memory of this series to never fade. It’s the smallest things that really sell it for me. Stuff like Gildedguy’s little warm up while the door opens just shows off his personality and character so well. Even though it’s super late and I should be going to bed, I couldn’t help but watch it the whole way through.

I love how the dragon kinda slayed itself. The armor was made of its hoard. It got decapitated by its own wing. The final blow was dealt by its victim with its own sword. And that victim had just come to reject their own blind greed. Greed do be self-destructive.

Man, I'm Brazilian, and I've been watching your videos for a long time, since I was 10 years old, when the most recent video was Gildedguy Vs Bog, and I always rewatch your channel to watch your videos, thank you very much for being part of my childhood and being part of my adolescence

I mentioned on a couple forums that talked about Story 7 that it wasn't up to the polish, and I as worried that you were taking shortcuts or something in order to get the episodes out faster, It just didn't look as clean, with arms being visible through other body parts and things like that. If those shortcuts were for any reason other than getting them out faster I'd be perfectly fine with it, but this episode has blown me away and erased any doubts I had to whether you were willing to take the time to release a perfect product. This story is amazing from both a story and animation perspective.

A marred dragon who couldn't face the fear of being rejected by others, facing a golden knight who tried so hard to bring her to the right side. Imo, I think mar hated being a dragon, the fact that they have to consume in order to prosper is what she hated, yet despite hating being a dragon and traumatized by the deeds she's done as one, she still instinctively fought in order to not be severed from said dragon. I guess there are some people who are too far gone, and gildedguy understood that, that's why he did nothing to stop mar from being stabbed. And thank you gildedguy for making an amazing and story-riched animation!

This decade is the golden age of independent animation, with Glitch Productions, Sr.Pelo, Gooseworx, Liam Vickers, Dojo Community, Alan Becker, and, more than ever, Gildedguy with its crown jewel, Story #8. I want to see what more epic stories will come next and see with the birth of more animators, with new and epic stories inspired by great animators of these times. I've always loved the way you were able to use music as an expression of emotions for the characters. This shows just how far you have come in your career and how you are able to use music instead of words to make people feel what is going on. Keep up the good work.

I was NOT expecting Gildedguy to build a fully functioning battle suit out of the surrounding gold. Then he proceeds to enter the dragon, space battleship-style to go toe to toe with the dragon lady/man. You really did go all out on the animation and music choice for this one.

It's an interesting detail in 11:05 where the eyes of gildedguy have the same blood drop which have RHG during his counter
