A series of conversations with Claire Parnet in which each letter of the alphabet evokes a word, from A (as in animal) to Z (as in zig zag). The sessions were taped when Deleuze was already terminally ill and "the awareness of mortality floats through the dialogue, making them not just intellectually stimulating but also emotionally engaging".

A propos de la vieillesse je rejoins totalement ce point de vue, rien de plus détestable que ces personnes qui, égoïstement et pour se rassurer, nous refusent le droit d'être un grand malade vivant et un vieillard qui le vit bien; mais non tu es en bonne santé, ça se voit ! Et, non tu n'es pas vieux! Ben merde alors, laisses-moi à ce que je suis et ne m'imposes pas tes peurs, j'aime ma vieillesse, laisses-moi jouir de ma vie actuelle.

Il est difficile de comprendre ce que ressent le vieux de sa vieillesse, surtout quand celui-ci semble se plaindre, ou parler de son état avec une certaine mélancolie. L'entourage n'impose pas tant ses peurs en voulant rassurer le grand-père que sa maladroite bienveillance.

Dans un même médecin, comment parvenir à distinguer la personne, parfois "exquise", et son "usage du pouvoir", qui est "odieux" ? Dans la pratique ou l'expérience, cela me semble impossible..

Merveilleuse idée de la vieillesse "splendide", ontologiquement pleine, si du moins ni maladie douloureuse, ni misère ne l'alourdissent ! ❤

. Maladie ou, comme tel une entité en interne qui fait présence harcelente, parfois difficile à supporter qui fait épreuve dans sa vie, qui ronge vos forces vives, ou Ia maladie comme présence à soi même entre âme, corps et esprit, qui fait présence dans l'existence, je suis vieux et malade donc je suis... . La relation médecin malade, ici avec l'expérience de G. D. EN SON TEMPS, serait elle, aussi donc qu'une relation plutôt duelle, dominant dominé d'un sachant en usant d'un sentiment de puissance et de dépendance sur le malade ? En réalité il n'existe pas seul en tan que tel la maladie mais, en premier lieu des personnes singulières, supportants une maladie... . La nourriture fine et bien accompagnée ne serait donc qu'un luxe aussi... ?

perhaps kierkegaard was sick at times. but he forced a language to breach the categories into a sick categories. Deleuze on the other hand lodged an entire ontology to philosophy itself. Can we call it rhizome? Something in between existence and essence. Further more, when I listen to Deleuze I feel like there is a language two steps beyond my comprehention. (Is this because of French? Or is this because of the sick and the old live in the realm.)

@@jwl4340 there are many ways entities of dichotomies relate to each other. and there are not all comparisons. i find the dichotomy of language/world interesting.

@@jwl4340 A and not-A is a poor duality. if you have A you know the not-A. subjective and objective is much more interesting. because there is a fundamental shift in perspective.

Il déteste manger et s'imagine que ça a un sens philosophique mais c'est juste qu'il a chainsmoke sans interruption pendant 60 ans. Comment c'est possible d'aimer manger si t'as jamais faim?

half an hour talk and no discussion of what maladie is, what an illnes and a disease is, so much to talk, so much to extract out of his mind, and yet the interviewer concerns him only with the most boring unimportant stuff. what a waste of a great opportunity.
