you guys know she's not different actually right? already know her woke af speeches right? Sure recent craps particularly dumb ppl but probably she wouldn't be any different now if she the one answering these. Previous talks most likely just reflecting expected intelligence of that era. I guess apparently talking like brain dead seems to be more authentic looking and likeable style in their eyes.

They gave R2 and 3PO a gender/sex when robots have neither seeing as they can neither procreate nor go beyond their original programming which never (as far as I have seen) included attraction of any kind. Basically, she voice profiled Anthony Daniels and assumed his sexuality through a fictional robotic character. As far as sexualizing R2’s beeps and boops… I just don’t know what to say about that…

@@cubaprefect1honestly, no need to go that deep into it. These people have no imagination and creativity of their own, and everything that goes on in their world (as in their perspective of the world) goes on only with respect to identify politics. It cannot be something that exists as a methaphorical idea that correlates with several issues in the world, it literally has to be sexuality or race. R2D2 couldn't just be a robot having comedic exchanges with another robot C3PO, they have to have a sexuality. Two women can't be platonically interested in each other, they have to be gay with each other.

Oh boy let me tell you: The jedi: • separate children from their parents • forbid monogamous heterosexual relationships • teach children postmodern philosophy (absolutely no absolutes) • repeatedly conduct assassinations of political figures which the sith never do • create an imbalance in the force by only utilizing platonic idealism and ignoring natural emotions • have become entrenched in political bureaucracy, weakening its own institutions and making it a crusty conservative faction that no longer benefits the citizens of the galaxy • repeatedly attempt to exterminate the sith just for being sith • sponsor military adventurism in order to interfere with the free market and stop private corporations from protecting their trade routes and intellectual property • foment rebellions against valid civil governments, causing harm to indigenous civilian populations and wrecking their economies • engage in terrorism, murdering millions of noncombatants and destabilizing galactic peace by destroying two military installations whose only use had been to destroy a planet which was harboring and sponsoring terrorists and refusing to stop engaging in open sedition against the lawful authority, directly threatening galactic peace and which was unable to be addressed any other way due to a planetary shield The Sith: • goals are the peaceful transfer of power to a more effective monarchic system rather than the corrupt democratic-republican senatorial system • never assassinates a head of state of a lawful civil government, even when they were in their custody • never engages in terrorism • promotes law and order, cracking down on crime even in the outer rim • promotes chaste romantic relationships • desires to create, extend, protect and even restore life • engages in just Warfare, per the conquest of canaan, executing whole tribes eg tusken raiders, younglings, and alderaan, when the entire political entity is committed to wickedness and will with complete certainty train their children to become terrorists as well. • promotes the free market, suppressing black market activity and opposing protectionism and a bloated bureaucracy with its attendant wastefulness • uses volunteers to fill the military rather than the unethical practice of cloning and forced conscription The only basis for believing the Sith to be evil is the exaggerated characterization of palpatine and anakin, as depicted from the Jedi perspective. All of their actions are justified. Vader is the hero of the entire sextilogy because it was his pursuit of marriage and his relentless pursuit of reconciliation with his son that ultimately brought balance to the force. QED

To be fair, Natalie Portman does have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Doesn't excuse how ignorant the other people are, just makes the gap between them and Portman MUCH larger Edit: To all those still commenting: I know Portman didn't get her degree until 2003. My point was to highlight that, as an actor, being well versed in Psychology heightens your understanding of different people when looking at them from a performative aspect. Some roles are written poorly and you have to do with what you're given...every actor has bad roles (believe me I've definitely had mine). My point is that Natalie is well educated, loves and cares about the job that she's in, develops characters to a very good extent, and has the desire to delve into their psyche. Not saying she's better than anyone, no one's better than anyone, she just uses what she's given to accomplish the dreams she sets out to achieve. Full stop.

“She’s a powerful leader, yas yas”… I remember the times when actors actually analyse their characters. Like people who played real life kings and emperors, who were powerful, but they would instead focus on who they were as a person.

Just saying, most modern acting methods encourage you to talk as if you are your character, in the first person. I've taken several classes and work in the field, and I was always to taught to say "I" whenever I'm talking about a character I play. I'm not saying that's the only way to do it, just how a lot of people are instructed.
