Күн бұрынThe AoG Gimle battleship is completed and battles are continuing with @Brenzo44 Ragnarök 2.0 or v2022 who made a great refit of the original @Robbaz Ragnarök ship from back in history. The Gimle follows many rules from the beat the ragnarök rules and one main objective was to beat this ship, so to BATTLE!

Gimle Open Seas Build Rules:
- Naval ships or low flying airships. Your submission should work in a naval setting but cannot submerge, it also can't fly higher than 500m if it is an airship.
- No cheese, like no 1m tetra spam filled areas for aim spoof, no internal waterpropellers or azipods, no spincliping and all those other usual cheese tactics are banned.
- Max 100K blocks
- No extreme missile or interceptor spam (hint: use mediums and not so manny smalls)
- No waterpumps or heliumpumps what so ever, like not a single one can be present on your build.
- Under 2.2 million cost: that means 2.1XXX not 2.2XXX
- Max 2 Repair Bots
- No spawners/drones/docked crafts
- No extreme subobject spam (like 200 dif guns)
- No intentional melee
- No video screens and cameras present on the battleship (the one that makes captains see when there is no windows)
- Ship can not play video our audio sources during battle. (includes YT video players etc)
- When submitting the ship, any lights and smoke generators should be switched off and not activate during the battle since they cause unnecessary lag, if you have a decorated version with interiors etc we should check out please submit one "battle version" where laggy stuff is turned off and one "parade version" that looks cool with all its lights, video players or cameras and smoke effects etc enabled and working.
Btw: if your ship lags too much I will not be able to use it. If your ship breaks the rules the battle will be cancelled.
- Deadline: Open submission.
- Ships must be submitted to me via Discord DM or Email, send the .blueprint file, not a workshop link.
Battle Rules:
- The battles will be best of three.
- All ships will spawn with the bow towards Gimles bow, gimle is a one sider, but it still spawns nose to nose, make your ship manouverable enough to avoid a collission. This rule is because the ships will close in on eachother and that is much more entertaining than far away orbiting battles (thanks Menti!), if you want that, spend on manouverabillity and speed, because you are not getting optimal orbit for free.
- Given 500K materials.
- You need to be able to win within 15 minutes of ingame time per battle.

I give credit where it's due, the Gimle is a tough opponent at its cost. I'm gonna run the Gimle vs Turtle Lord battle privately for myself just because I'm curious how it'll go. I suspect the Turtlelord may grind the Gimle out of flak, but we'll see. I've built three different ships at 2.2 mil trying to beat the Gimle and haven't done it yet. Might be I'm not using enough Cram. :j

@@GMODISM Well, it's not as weak to torpedoes as it would seem. Consistent torps perhaps. Likewise, it's weak to strong crams but not Cram barrages. The backside is weak, aye, but that mostly only matters for something like magnet bombs. I'd say mortars do well against it but mortar accuracy is crap. Lasers might do well against it after it broadsides, though the shields would still be reducing the AP to 30%... so something like 18. Disruptor shells against all the shields might be nice, but there needs to be some backup punch. Keeping a constant barrage does keep the LAMS busy and the laser distracted. Still, all said the thing's just *tough*. All of the tweaks and improvements were worth the time, it's a well-tuned ship.

Just noticed at 9:04 that the gimle is 40% armour cost. I didn't realise that it is such a tank.

If water pumps are making lag then you can disable it rendering out the water in the options menu

Oh believe me I have tried, it does not work at all, actually even if you disable them they cause lag, so they can be off but if they are present they will cause stutters no matter what. If you wanna know the details it is about it calculating the pump rate to calculate buoyancy when the container they are inside is breached.

Very impressive indeed! The ragnarok sure put up a fight but it couldn’t handle the relentless cadence of those doom crams 😤 the gimle is most certainly the king of the KZfaqr battleships now

Thanks for that rating! hahaha king of the youtuber ships right now lets GOOOOO! The ragnarök is strong indeed, it's a competently built ships so I am very happy to have made something that is able to beat it most of the time!

I think it would have probably gone the other way, if the CIWS had enough oomph to take out the big crams. You can see that even in the beginning of the battle it just couldn't take any of them down.

I deliberately made them high in health in order to not get taken out easily, the rag in my opinion spends too much on ciws, so no design that is still able to deal good damage should then be able to take these shells out (if they are not using DIF flak guns lol) but yeah I will consider that AI hit to be extremely lucky, but if it would have hot the main AI it could have won too. But facts are the Gimle is very full of empty space, and the Rag does not have weapons that deal well with lots of empty space, so I am not sure it could have won easily, that is because I built this with the Rags weaknesses in mind to be able to defeat it and many other similar designs like the Titanslang for example.

The Gimle is certainly the quintessential battleship. My attempt to make a ship to counter it is going slowly as I'm still fairly new to the game and I'm trying to be a bit unconventional as I don't want to try to "out Gimle the Gimle".

The Gimle is quite powerfull. After watching this i wonder how some of the other ships from the Ragnaröks tournament whould do against her since most of them beat the Rag. Sadly my computer struggles fighting ships that size.

Disappointed Brenzo hasn't watched this & commented. Guess he was not too happy his ship lost after all them hours put into it. He was so confident it would be undefeated i recon. OG FTD builders are just so much more ahead in there builds. 10/10 battle good sir. Tips hat

I thought you were crazy with such little armor on the Gimle. Now that I've had a battle against it. Crazy like a fox. I have to say your builds have made me a better builder in this game.

That is quite awesome indeed! Well do build something that adheres to the rules (or not) and send it in for testing in an official (or unofficial) battle vs the Gimle whenever it is done, submissions are open! [no hurries the wait list is long due to cool old ships I wanna try]

@@GMODISM I would have to go look at the rules again. What I have now wouldn't work because they have sub-objects. Those crams. I've got to build more with crams. I always do rail guns. The last craft I made has eight that will go Brrr...

Präst ost is pretty good, one of my favorites from Sweden. Nice round taste, not too strong, but still gives a rather pleasant cheese flavor. Svarta Sara is a nice alternative, but nothing beats Jarlsberg as a well rounded cheese fitting most dishes. Ironically Jarlsberg is often cheaper in Sweden than in Norway. I hope your Gimle proves to be an adequate cheese grater should the need arise. @@GMODISM
