woah. i recently started using gimp 2 months ago and your channel was among the ones that really helped me. and this one helped me ALOT. i used to use paths to make my strokes but it seems like your way is easier. thank you so much! i hope you keep making more gimp related tutorials and videos.

hi, i think it easy to warp text in photoshop with layer effect. what iam doing, make 2 letter, the one is stroked text, and other one is the normal. place it between the player. the stroke is above the player layer and the normal text its below the player.

Why does it not work when I hid the "Just" layer:( I didn't see the stroke in the letters

1. Duplicate the "just" layer by right-clicking on the layer and selecting "Duplicate Layer." 2. Right-click on the duplicated layer and select "Alpha to Selection." 3. Go to "Select" in the top menu and choose "Grow." Set the value to 5px. 4. Choose "Edit" in the top menu and select "Fill with Background Color." Make sure the color is set to white, the same as the text. 5. Deselect the layer by pressing "Shift+Ctrl+A." 6. Return to the original "just" layer and right-click on it. Choose "Alpha to Selection." 7. With the selection still active, go to the duplicated "just" layer and press "Delete" to remove the selected area. Try again to hide the original "just" layer. The text should only appear as a stroke.

duplicate the text > right click choose alpha to selection then go to edit > grow > make it by 5px. go to edit again > fill with background color (make sure the color is currently white) then select the original one > right click > alpha to selection > press delete on the duplicated text layer

Start from 4:17, duplicate the text layer and name it "stroke".right click on the stroke layer > alpha to selection; it will make a selection. While in selection, go to select > grow, make it by 5 to expand the selection. Then go to edit again > fill with bg color (make sure bg color white for the stroke color to white). And deselect by pressing ctrl+shift+a. The last, in the text layer (the original one), right-click > alpha to selection. while in the selection, choose the "stroke" layer then press delete. and arrange the layer, stroke to the top and the original text below the image.

When you add text, it doesn't break to create a new layer when you press enter. It stays connected until you place each word on a new layer, then have a stroke layer for each word. GIMP has been updated to GIMP 2.10.38. Also the tutorial on the site, doesn't mention kern. Your video tutorials and website tutorials are two different things because you're skipping steps on the site that aren't in the video. What should be in the video tutorials, should reflect the the site tutorials.
