Ginas dad Ben is visiting this week week and he gives us a helping hand in tidying up our olive groves.
This week I really wanted to make a video about our beloved Dog-Dog who passed away only a few months ago. Its been really tough going through all of the old footage we have but I uncovered some real gems which you can see in this video and also on our Patreon page.

As a cat mom I can appreciate how tough it must be to go through the footage of D💓g D💓g. It's nice to have Gina's Dad visiting enjoying family and experiencing the olive harvest with Joachim's shakey rakey.🙂👍🇨🇦

Love that you ended the video with Gina looking smoking hot 😂. Lovely see Dog Dog again. It's so painful going back through photos and video of pets/family/friends again after they have gone but great to remember those good times ❤

The farm looks really good. I went back the other day and watched your moving in video. Always nice to see family visiting. I love the idea of a soaking tub with a view. May Ben and Gina have a wonderful time in Lisbon. 💙💫

Watch your backs! Yes, it is ideal to pull out the suckers on the olive trees, and when they are maintained well, the suckering diminishes, but for the thicker shoots a lopping shear or a hatchet might save your spine. Your farm is looking beautiful. Algarve is not yet so lush, and now we aren´t expecting rain again until the new year, but my garden is looking good finally. HUgs from Loulé.

You were very lucky your dog was active to the end. 😊 out Bichon is 15 years and is having dental issues and vet can’t help him due to his age. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Yes I hear its very good for high blood pressure but can also cause problems if you have normal to low blood pressure as its so effective at dropping it.

Looking forward to the next vlog you two. Do you get many reports of theft in the area? We have a ring floodlight cam in England and are thinking of changing it for a Reolink cam. On our visit in September apart from visiting the Gardunha mountain trail (kind of following your route. That abandoned boarding school was a bit creepy). We also went up the Serra Da Estrela. Wow what views. The visitor's centre was a surprise and the goats cheese and Sausage we bought was very tasty. It would make a great vlog for you two to visit perhaps?

Hi David, we have not had problems with theft but there have been the a couple of break ins around the area over the 4 years we have been here. I've tried a lot of cameras over the last 10 years and these ones are by far the best ive ever used. I haven't tried the Ring cameras though. Really lucky to have been given them for free! I have ones which can pan, tilt and zoom. They work off solar panels and wifi and ive dotted a bunch around the farm. Managed to capture a lot of cool animals - fortunately no human intruders! The Serra da Estrela is amazing. I've vlogged up there a couple of times now but haven't seen that visitors centre. Maybe in a future vlog we will check it out :)

The visitor centre is mainly a group of souvenir, local Goats cheese and meat/ tasty sausage shops. Free samples to get you to buy, lol. There’s a few places to eat and drink too.

Gostei muito de conhecer o paizinho da Gina é muito simpatico espero que ele tivesse gostado. Que excelentes memórias o seu caozinho era muito lindo que pena ele ter morrido mas tambem tinha 12 anos eu tambem tive uma gatinha que morreu com quase 19 anos e o curioso é ela era branca de neve chamava- se Rita fico sempre triste quando penso nela. A sua quinta está tao linda tudo verde que diferença faz agora no verao estava tudo tao seco e cheio de poeira mas tem chovido tanto para o norte e centro de Portugal eu moro muito perto de Lisboa e aqui tambem choveu muito. Adorei o seu vidio foi excelente. Thank you very much 👍👍👍👍 🐕🦺🐕

Aka Filipa You know, I was wondering about the video you have promised to do about Dog Dog and suddenly you started to talk about that. I am an animal lover, and I miss them when they die, just like everybody else I suppose, so I often think of Dog Dog. You have not yet told us what was the cause of his sudden death, though. Because I remember having watched him right at the very beginning of that vlog when you had to stop filming. Are you going to tell us about it or is it something you do not want to talk about? I would like to know but I understand if you prefer not to tell. I have had lots of dogs over the years and I still think about them though they are not here any more. I have fond memories of them as well as pictures. 😍

I think Britain was previously England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Maybe with Brexit people are fussier about describing their nationality?

Yes I always forget the distinction but a brit refers to the whole of Britain (Scots, Welsh, Northern Irish) whereas he is from England 🇬🇧
